It didn't really matter what Ms. Akato had chosen for her preference. The RN series was meant to be something incredible, but took a pretty penny to make it. Their metal could be made of almost anything, but the strain that the minds seemed to put on the shell would destroy most. As Mr. Novia reached the waiting room, looking just like the lobby but with a few chairs and a window that looked into a darkened room. He touched the screen that was to the left of the window and started to mark down what the shell was to be made of.
It wasn't uncommon to find a robot made of nanobots, but these nanobots were made to survive and adapt with the mind that would soon be controlling them. The exoskeleton would be covered and soon form with this technology to give whatever Ms. Akato had desired her assistant to look like. It was also the easiest to make a "skin" suit for since they could alter it without having to purchase multiple suits. The body was always the easy part though of the RN's due to their specific needs.
The difficult part was the mind, the one flaw that these machines had. There is no other computer or memory unit like the human mind in the world. Nothing that could break down information and rebuild it in such a fashion. Yet, picking the wrong one could destroy the shell and all the nanobots with it. Costing the company much more than just the third of cost... Roughly, it would be about a half of the cost to almost three fourths. Shaking his head, Mr. Novia pulled up a list of current "possible" units that were ranked from one to five. One meaning that without a doubt they would work and five being highly unlikely to work. The only issue was, the ones came from mentally "dead" donors that had an IQ below average. The fives were the ones that were perfect for the task, but yet had a hard time accepting to their new way of life. Pulling up the list of what Ms. Akato wanted for an assistant, he started to mark the items on the search. "Odd things to ask for... Nothing about business or even office work.... She should have just said a body guard..."
It wasn't his place to judge or even question though. A sale was a sale and getting rid of another RN would give him some bragging rights at the monthly meeting and maybe to impress that woman from floor seven. As he finished checking off the last requirements, only four units remained. Unit one was a store guard, died from two shots to the chest... Was roughly forty-three and had an IQ of eighty two. Unit two was a military soldier, was thirty three and went AWOL in her third year and killed seven others before being gunned down. IQ was 135. Unit three was one a mercenary caught trying to steal from the company... Age is assumed to be twenty seven and IQ is unknown. Unit four was a fighter in the entertainment circle, age twenty two, IQ was 122 but assumed that unit is heavily damaged from "headshots". "Well....One and four are out..." It wasn't always smart to put someone who went AWOL into a machine... They learned that with RN-18 after it tried to destroy the room... So it seemed like unit three was the "lucky" candidate today. Selecting that one, Mr. Novia hit submit and turned around and took a seat. There was nothing left to do but wait now. A timer on the screen popped up. It had the numbers "21:49" and counting down.

She arrived quickly and looked over her shoulder as she entered out of habit. Would it be a lot longer? A few hours was one thing, but before long people would start wondering where Nikyoku was...
Nikyoku definitely wouldn't be able to explain being out all night and missing at the same time as Suta... At least not in anyway that was the least bit image appropriate for either.
He wasn't visible when she first stepped in so she cleared her throat. "..." She looked for some indication of what to do from here. From the outside, this was obviously a ware house. So either there was a factory hidden inside that no one was supposed to see, or the unit was being shipped here very very quickly. Either way, she was certain she was not meant to go poking around in things that were not her own business.
She opened up her Penpad again and had a look at the time and checked to see if any memos had been delivered to her inbox before closing it. It hadn't been terribly long, yet... she took a seat nearby and began counting the minutes.
The room wasn't very decorated, the same as the last waiting room, but this one had no windows, no desk and no robotic secretary that looked like a hooker.
It was an improvement.
The Penpad played soft music to make the time go by a little faster as she waited for her host to come out and discuss with her again the intimate details of their dealings. Hopefully she wouldn't have to cart a box or crate home... and hopefully the thing would not be bare metal... would be difficult to explain to Geinokai staff where he came from or where he was going if he wasn't at least passable as a human.
She sighed through her nose. "... that is why I can't hire human staff..."
((Sorry so short...))

There wasn't much Mr. Novia could say to pass the time, nor did it truly seem like it was in the customer's desire to engage in conversation. He just stood at the window looking into the black room waiting for the product to be delivered. The process wasn't meant to be as long as it had been... Almost going on twice the amount of time it should have which was never good news. Did the brain fail to accept the shell or perhaps it wasn't stable enough? It would be a shame if this happened....
As the minutes passed by, he couldn't help but sigh. Maybe he should send the lady home, tell her she would be informed in the morning of what happened. The lights turned on in the room behind the glass and stood a man with his feet shoulder width apart, arms at his size with an oversized coat on him. His black hair combed back and his eyes shut. Touching the screen on the wall, Mr. Novia took a deep breath. "Introduce yourself, who are you? Model number?"
The man opened his eyes and looked at Ms. Akato and then Mr. Novia. In a monotone voice, the mouth started to move slowly. "Model number: RN-35. Who are you, unknown." Mr. Novia turned and looked at Ms. Akato. "It will take an update or two when you desire to get RN-35's language up to normal speed, but is that what you ordered?"

She smiled as he walked forward. He passed pretty well. Yes, he was still wearing off some of the new of his body... and his speech was considerably formal, if not basic.
"It's not updated as you said but..." She walked around it, checking for any obvious flaws or something that would give him away as anything other than human. He was tall, as she'd said. She truly wasn't too picky about his appearance... but she reached up and patted the back of his shoulder, testing to see if someone would be able to openly feel any telling machinery that would give him away far too easily.
She didn't notice anything. No joints or partitions or anything of that nature. It was solid but smooth. Effective. She walked around again to the front of him. She held out her hand as to offer a handshake in greeting.
"Hello. We'll establish naming and referral criteria later. For now, I am Suta. It's nice to meet you." She tested his grip and his response timing; if he was able to establish pseudo eye contact and his stance. Obviously he had many ways of knowing she was there, but a human would have to look at someone to be able to determine their whereabouts, and she needed him to be able to fake it like no one's business to be able to pull this off.
The tech itself should be able to do the basic office work. But the human pieces were necessary for other parts of her deception.

With a smile, Mr. Novia returned and left the customer with her new product shortly after she went inside.
RN-35 stood still, head straight and eyes forward. There was a slight change in color in the iris of the right eye. There was a slight chest rise and fall to mimic breathing, even air would pass through the lips to match. 'System diagnostics in progress.......' The sensors in the shoulder went off as her flesh touched the clothing and pressed against the "body". The RN turned its head slightly to regain vision of the woman. It did not speak, simply study the woman. As she continued to walked around and back in front, the robots eyes kept their gaze on the human.
As she spoke, the words ran through the data bank, collecting the information and sorting for the proper response. As well as this, the eyes watched as her hand raised and added that to process. Though it took a moment, the machine raised his hand and slowly put his palm against the woman's. The finger wrapping softly over the lower metacarpals and the thumb going between hers and the index finger. "Hello Ms. Suta, it is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance. RN-35 is ready to serve. Thank you for choosing us."

His grip was solid and sure, but not overbearing or crushing. Yes, it was a good machine. She shook his hand firmly and looked at her watch.
"I'm afraid we don't have a lot of time for pleasantries here. The car is a company car and I've got it on loan. I'll explain everything at the office, but until we're at the office and alone, you shouldn't speak more than is absolutely necessary. I'll download all the appropriate updates... and then I'll explain why there are criteria for what you call me."
That would be easy enough for a machine to comprehend because they wouldn't ask messy questions like why or why not. She motioned for him to follow him and head to the car, putting on sunglasses and stepping quickly.
~_~_~_~Timeskip_~_~_~_
She locked the door on the suite behind the office that Nikyoku used for breaks and client confidential meetings. She'd guided her new associate in here and pulled the blinds down so that there was no chance of paparazzi sniper cameras zooming in on the room. She then looked over at the robot. She'd changed clothes downstairs and taken a private elevator to this floor; the perks of being a CEO. Then she'd deliberately removed all footage of her journey, and any empty shots other places, from the security footage for the last two hours. Finally she turned to her new toy and sighed.
"Alright. Lets get you updated completely. Use my password to log into the network here. 251357410684197kZpo. Update all necessary features but hold off on anything unnecessary. We don't want to bog down the office net, and besides that, there's more information for you to download from my personal files."
She held up her Penpad. "This contains all my current assignments and schedules. When you're done with the updates, we'll download this into your memory. It might take a little while... but you're going to be my confidant, so anything that is in this Penpad... is going to be downloaded after we take out that automatic updater function you have."

As the woman spoke, the machine stood still and kept its gaze on her face. Analyzing the way her lips move, how her pupils reacted as each word rolled off her tongue. It seemed like the owner wished not to finish the process here. But rather in another place. With a nod, the machine placed its hands in the pockets and followed her to the car.
As they rode, the machine's eyes remained shut. Running the system diagnostics to complete it as soon as possible. Motor fuctions were at a hundred percent, no surprise there. Memory space taken was less than one percent. Updates needed, three hundred and four critical. Five hundred and thirty six recommended. The machine glanced over at the new owner, seeing if anything was requested of it. But as the time ticked away, the machine returned to looking out the window and went back to searching through its files.
Sensory options were set to max, language was set to English and so on and so on... Nothing in the trash that needed to be discarded. Locked folder is locked. Backup drive has not been selected yet. Password failed. The car came to a stop and the machine watched as its new owner got out of the car, getting out and followed her to a room. She locked the door and closed the blinds. The machine wasn't fully sure of what was going on, but did it truly matter?
She commanded the machine to connect to the network and start updating the "important" things. She kept talking and handed over a penpad that was apparently going to be the new calendar. "Automatic updater ma'am? That is required in the RN to keep status check. Removal would void the contract and any damage caused would be billed to your account. Do you wish to continue?"

Suta had changed back into Nikyoku and so her voice had changed slightly. She nodded in response to the android's question about if she was certain she wanted to continue.
"Yes, of course. Proceed with all available necessary updates. Configure and then disable update functions entirely. I'll handle everything manually from now on. If there's a malfunction, you are to notify me of ramifications of the malfunction immediately."
She slid herself into her desk and placed her PenPad in the small socket designed for charging and turning her desk into a large window for PenPad functions and allowed her to use the CPU within her desk to it's full capacity.
Nikyoku began going through the schedules for news conferences, concerts, photo shoots, investor meetings, business dinners, working lunches and other overlapping events.
Her fingers flew across the keyboard as she made the required adjustments to her planner, her emails and the network. She would need to adjust so that his programming would not trigger or respond to the common wifi network unless he needed to enter it, and even then, it would need to be a hidden access. It would need to look like a phone or common device, which there were thousands of in any given building in Shinsoo, but still. No reason to give away any details about her assistant if they need not be divulged.
"...As soon as you're finished, we'll deactivate that automatic updater."

The machine continued to update what it needed, downloading all the different facial expressions and movements that dealt with "emotions". But kept the sensors on its new "master". Watching as this woman changed her appearance, the skin over the face changed to "confusion". Yet it followed the command or at least... it would if the automatic updater was there. 'Error: Program not found.' The master wished for it to be turned off, surely it not being there would be to her/his satisfaction.
Downloads complete of human responses. Updating human interactions.
After a moment, the robot glanced around and noticed a chair. Walking over to it and pulling it out, it sat down on the chair and started to "crack" the "bones". "Permission to identify self as Raphael and to be known as a 'male'?" The machine glanced up looking at the master. If the data collected so far, it seemed like she/he did not care about what the machine did as long as the machine did what it was meant to.
The AI in RN-35 kept downloading what was needed, but also what was known to be useful due to the other files of failed AI's. Things such as how to prepare meals, drinks to folding clothes and fixing pieces of equipment. Was it necessary right now, not at all, but it was better to prepare than to be forced to download it in a rush.
