I will hunt you down... Things had been going from bad to worse, from the incident that occurred over a month ago now where he witnessed a side of Zero he had never seen before, to meeting the tiny warrior in the wilds of Hryst, and then the incident that unfolded at the tournament. It was pretty obvious the world was in a fucked up situation, but at the same time Ivan had more personal issues to deal with. It may have seemed selfish of him to throw away concern for the greater threat just to handle his own problems, but he was done holding this off. He tried running away from it, and it didn't help; he tried seeing her in a different light but even then it didn't help. No matter how much he wanted to genuinely hate her, how badly he wanted to convince himself that she was a monster, and he needed to destroy her; he could not bring himself to believe that. When he remembered that night, when he remembered what she looked like Ivan did not hate her for it, instead his heart was weighed with concern for her. Ivan did not want to swing his cleaver at her, on the contrary he wanted to reach out, and embrace her in his arms let her know that everything was okay, that she wasn't a monster.
The large man sighed when he thought about how he could have allowed himself to say that to her, well why was he asking he knew exactly why, at that moment in time when he was standing there in front of her his eyes witnessing the monstrous aura that was escaping her. He was genuinely, scared, but it wasn't even fear for his life or fear for the well being of others it was a fear that he would have never expected. At that point in time he was afraid of losing her, he was afraid he HAD lost her that she was completely gone that the Zero he knew had been erased entirely, and in her place there was nothing more but that entity that wanted only to destroy. However, Ivan even then could not bring himself to hate her at the moment yes he was scared, he was acting on instinct but when it all passed, when he woke up in that bed. He knew why he was there, he knew what had happened, and it was hard to accept it at first specially after what he had witnessed.
"She saved me..." he whispered to himself his deep voice breaking out into the silent atmosphere. The tree tops came to life with the sweepings winds, the sound of rustling leafs filling the atmosphere, his spiked white hair leaning the same way the wind traveled, and with the cold caress of the wind hitting the exposed torso under his coat he would instinctively reach for the split ends of his coat to pull it shut. It was then that Ivan heard something behind him, turning over his shoulder his calm golden eyes would widen when he spotted the individual who stood behind him. She was just a few feet away from him, the clearing he had asked her to meet him at was actually a place of significance for both of them, this was the very same place where they had first met the place where she broke his cleaver in half. Ivan would turn fully to face her with his entire body, letting his hands hang at either side of him as his eyes focus on her features, it had not been so long since he had seen her granted the last time they had actually fought side by side at the tournament incident.
That is when he took the chance to ask her to come here, Ivan had so much to say but now that he stood in front of her he felt a knot in his throat, and his heart seemed to be skipping beats. He was nervous hopefully not visibly nervous, but he could feel his palms sweating he hated himself right now why could he not keep his composure? But another thing he was noticing is that the burning hatred that drove him to attack her was gone, now in its place was something more tender feeling that wanted Ivan to run, and embrace this woman. But he controlled himself, instead all he could do was say....
"Hi" but then he forced himself to say a little more, "Zero I..." he had said her name without realizing it, his mind was occupied with trying to throw together the words he wanted to get out, the weight that was pulling him down he wanted to relieve himself of it. "....I..." Ivan would bite down on his lips, his hands closing into firm fists he remembered the conversation he had with Etro, he needed to do this. "Zero...Zero!" finally the large man just stepped forward closing the distance between him, and the woman when he did his arms embraced her in a tight hug. Ivan held her close, it was different very different from the way he had handled her before, this time the hug had more passion, and there was more emotion behind this simple action; the once raw lust that was there when he would hold her was replaced by genuine emotion.
Ivan pressed his chin against the top of her head, "You aren't a monster...you never were..." he said to her in a whisper his arms remained wrapped around her smaller frame, "I said that to you because I was scared...I was scared I had lost you that night, I was scared that the woman I--" he paused knowing that once he said this he would not be able to turn back, "...I was scared that the woman I had fallen for was gone, replaced by a blood thirsty beast, but even then afterwards I couldn't bring myself to hate you. I wanted to find you, I wanted to run back, and find you so I could help you. Zero...I'm sorry I called you a monster..." he said to her, the mans voice was shaking, and he could feel his eyes swelling with tears that threatened to roll down his masculine features. It was happening he was opening the flood gates, he missed her he couldn't deny that not anymore, all Ivan could do was hug Zero hold her in his arms something he had been wanting to do for a long time now. Even so a part of him, maybe the part of him with common sense was worried about how she would react..

WHAT IS THIS I FEEL?
Zero had been feeling empty as of late, nothing seemed to warm her soul and she felt more like the walking dead then normal. For a month now she had been trying to move past what happened that day in the forest when she was called a monster. Even though since then she had met people and seen that she wasn't - there was just something in the way he looked at her, in the way he said it that tore at her. That cut shreds from her in ways that the blade never could and she couldn't work out why. Was it because he knew her unlike any other? Had she grown so fond of tormenting him that she didn't realise what she craved was his company? No, she wouldn't let that thought hold. She didn't want his company, he was just a cub she needed to teach a lesson to...and one who now, didn't want her around...at last that what she thought.
Breathing deeply she tilted her head to the night sky, her silver hair dancing in the wind, strands of it whipping across her face catching on the flower which was a constant reminder of what she was. Days before the world had changed and she was among the ones who fought for their freedom and she on that day had fought side by side with Ivan. It was a new and awkward feeling for her and when all was done and dusted he asked her here. The very place where it all began.
Moving swiftly again, she kept to the tree tops, her preferred method of traveling in the forest. As she moved she recalled the memory - how long ago it was when she first brought him to his knees before her. That time when their fates were decided and it marked their constant struggle for dominance. Zero smiled, it was her that always dictated their path but since their fight, the terror within her was seen, everything had changed and Zero felt lost in this world.
It wasn't unlike this night either, cool and bathed in the light of the moon. It was like she was at the beginning again, like the ghost of their former selves would be here to greet them or maybe watch in silence. "Why do I feel so cold?.." Her feet landed on the last branch of a tree that marked the edge of the forest and the start of the clearing. There she gazed out at him, watching as he pulled his jacket over his shoulders. Her brain wanted her to leave to get over this and move on with life but her body didn't respond and she stood there motionless for a moment. Taking on his features she questioned if this was it and he would fight her one last time, this time though only one would walk away. She breathed deeply "Well...I'm the one that isn't meant to be here anyway." Zero smiled, she made up her mind and she would accept her fate - at least it would be him and not anyone else. She could let go knowing it was him...
Dropping down from her perch she straighten and walked closer to him. One step, two steps, her feet left and right until she were roughly standing a few feet behind him. The wind still danced with her hair and her cape followed suit, the flower's petals swaying. She didn't look directly at him instead she tilted her head towards the moon for one last silent prayer, accepting her fate. It wasn't until he spoke did she look at him. Something she didn't see before which surfaced there in his features, it wasn't what she expected and then he called her name. Not The Silver Fox, not a name of profanity, it was her name, Zero. It stunned her, shocked her, kept her silent and turned her body to stone. Never had he called her by her name.
Then again he said it, and again! She stared at him, saw him coming but couldn't move. His arms moved around her, pulling her to a hug but all she could do was stand there, arms by her sides. Zero made a face, confusion, she didn't know what to make of his actions. She had come here ready to die yet still death eluded her and when she saw his face, felt his arms around hers she saw nothing of lust but....
His head came to rest on hers and it was like her body just accepted it like this wasn't new and it was always meant to be there. She found herself listening to his words, him taking back calling her a monster but then even more confusion was replaced. Something in her ached as his words continued to cut her down, break her and shatter everything she had ever built to prevent this feeling. What was it?
As he confessed to being scared she didn't say anything, she couldn't because soon after the words 'the woman I've fallen for' rang out in her ears. No this can't be, he's meant to hate her, meant to end it now, meant to snuff this monster from existence. No he can't...why was he crying? Zero hadn't felt the single tear that fell from her check hitting his chest. "But I am a monster." Her voice seemed foreign to her and distant, a low tone that sounded numb as she smiled at his chest "I am one. That's what I am." Her voice broke slightly as she moved her fingers to touch her cheek, it felt wet...

I will hunt you down... She didn't push him away, she merely stood there he did not feel her arms wrap around his body all he knew for a fact was that Zero was there in his arms, and there was no way he was going to let her go again. There was no way he was going to leave her again, he made that mistake once unfortunately it was that very same mistake that had shown Ivan something he had always denied himself or had been blind to. The fact that Zero was not a mark to him, the fact that she was something more to him he had never realized it until now but this woman had a much deeper affect on him than he had ever realized. Ivan felt so stupid when he realized this, because it went against all the teachings of the Zuni, you never abandon those you care for, that is a lesson his father always did his best to teach his son; there is never an excuse for turning your back on your loved ones. 'Heh' was all he thought as he stood there thinking back to those very words his father had said to him, to think that of all the people he met in his travels as a bounty hunter the one who would be considered his 'loved one' would be Zero. The very same woman that in this very same spot he tried to cleave in half with his now broken weapon, Ivan would probably never be able to explain how this came to be; how his feelings transformed so drastically. But at the same time he didn't care to...
It was only when Zero spoke that Ivan would return to the present, his arms still clinging to her smaller frame, and his ears open to her words. But her words where not something he wanted to hear, not because he didn't want her to talk but because he did not agree with what she was saying. When she spoke about herself like that Ivan felt his heart actually sink, his arms instinctively hugged her tighter as if trying to shield her, to protect her from the bad thoughts that where attempting to take hold of her, and make her believe she was a monster; when that was the furthest from the truth. Ivan would feel the moisture on his bare chest, she was crying he would feel it...his eyes would widen at first, because even for him this was surprising he had never seen Zero cry he had actually never really seen Zero express any sort of emotion. Even when the two of them spent nights together in random hotel rooms she never seemed to express anything other then a lustful desire to satisfy whatever urges had taken hold of her, just like him.
But it seemed that on this night things were much more different for the both of them, Ivans arms would begin release Zero from their warm embrace "Listen to me...." he would pause as he took a few steps back but didn't get out of arms reach length because his hands remained attached to Zero's side. One hand on each arm he squeezed, not tightly to hurt her but enough to get her out of whatever trance she was in, with eyes still red from the few lingering tears that ran down his cheeks Ivan would stare at her. "Zero, stop saying that. You are not a monster, do you hear me?" he asked her, his soft eyes becoming more intense as he suddenly shook her. "Stop saying you're a monster! You are not a monster!" he cried out to her his tone was heavy, it was strong just like his grip on her arms. With heavy breaths the large bounty hunter would reach up for his cleaver with one hand, his other lingered its grip on her arm. But Ivan soon released her as he aimed to prove a point, he took six steps back exactly, drawing his cleaver from its scabbard he would spin it in his hand, and in one motion thrust it down to the ground the heavy blade easily piercing the forest floor so deep that it was able to stand on its own.
Ivan would release the cleavers hilt, then reached for the ends of his coat pulling it apart he took it from his muscled figure letting the coat drop to the ground carelessly. His body was adorned with scars, and more recent injuries like the wounds on his shoulders from the incident that had taken place at the interrupted tournament, either way Ivan stood now shirtless his body exposed entirely. "....you believe you're a monster?" he asked her as he raised his arms to spread them wide, his golden eyes remained fixed on Zero the entire time not once did they look elsewhere. "Then come extinguish this nuisance that keeps telling you otherwise. A monster has no emotional attachment, so it should be no problem for you to puncture me with your blade...if you really believe you are a monster..." he paused as his mind raced to throw together the following words, simply because he knew the weight they would carry once they left his lips.
"If you truly believe you are a monster, then come kill me already. But know this....I love you, I understand that my feelings for you run deep to my core, and if you don't kill me here tonight. Then I will spend every waking moment trying to prove you wrong, until one day you see what I see. Until one day your eyes can see what my eyes see, a woman who from this day forth will learn that she is no longer alone, a woman I am ready to lay my life on the line for. A rare beauty that I can't go another second without...heh, if you find all that annoying then I suggest you kill me now, because you know how I stubborn I can be once I set my mind to something" his words were sincere, and he was bearing it all. The bounty hunter was tired, his body was worn out physically, and his mind was exhausted mentally. He wanted her to see, and to understand what was happening here; he wanted her to at least know how he felt even if she did reject it, he didn't care Zero was someone he had grown to care for, and that wasn't going to change anymore.

HOW CAN YOU LOVE A MONSTER?
Tears? Tears from her eye? She let her fingers touch her cheek as she felt the tears roll down, it wasn’t one or two she was actually crying. Zero almost forgot where she was and that Ivan had his arms tightly around her because Zero had thought she couldn’t cry anymore. “I-I am...” Even her voice sounded unlike her own – it sounded weak and unsure of itself. What was he saying to her, why was it having this effect? She didn’t understand and she couldn’t comprehend all she could do was cry.
Zero felt weak, her hands started to tremble and she felt like she was losing herself – she turned her head and she frowned “No-no” He pulled away from her but his hand held her arms, tightly squeezing her. Her hands came up to her face, she wanted to cover her ears as he repeated the words, shook her and repeated that she wasn’t a monster. Zero wanted to scream, she actually thought she did cry out but she couldn’t tell her own voice anymore. Everything just feel foreign, and it was worse when he pulled away from her – why was that?
She watched him draw his cleaver, it made her relax slightly for this was familiar – he would fight her now and she would not defend herself. He could have her life that was ok, that was ok…but that’s not what he did. “What are-“ He didn’t end her life, he planted his cleaver into the ground, she didn’t understand all she could do was just watch. He removed his shirt and she saw all his scars, the recent the old and the ones she caused, when he spoke again and it pulled at her. “I am…no-“ He started to tell her to kill him, telling her that she should be emotionless if she was a monster and to finish him. Her hands started to tremble all over again as her head raced and her thoughts were scattered. She hurt some much and didn’t know why, why was his words piercing her. Please stop, no. She tried to say the words but nothing came out – her hands came to her ears to cover them. She didn’t want to hear it, didn’t want to hear that he loved her. She cried out again as the tears freely flowed now. “I am alone. No!” She shook her head from side to side until she finally let out a scream, her head raised to the moon and her hands out to her sides. Tears flowed and her body trembled as she reached for her blade and turned her head to look at Ivan. She screamed out again and kicked her heel off the ground moving towards him with such speed her weapon drawn.
She jumped just as she got close enough, the force of her downward strike would end it there and then but she couldn’t do it and she screamed again as she pulled her strike. Landing on one knee before him, her blade wedged into the earth beneath them. “I can’t. I just.” She cried out again her head looking down to the earth too heavy to raise anymore, giving-up. “I’m yours Ivan…I always have been.” She broke down – her grip on the hilt of her blade slipped to the ground and she let her legs give way till she was hunched over and crying. It wasn’t the weeping kind, Zero was heaving as her chest began to feel like it was crushing her and her heart raced so fast. “But how can you love me?” She forced her head to look up at him, her eye filled with tears and her cheeks wet. She was kneeling before him just letting it all go, everything, she couldn’t keep it in anymore and she screamed her next words “I’m not meant to even be alive!” Dropping her head her silver hair fell around her shoulders and again that pain, that pain filling her. "Make it stop" The words slipped from her mouth between her uncontrollable tears "Just take it back! I can't. I can't do this anymore."

I will hunt you down... When she drew her weapon his visible muscles would tense he was bracing himself for the sharpened edge of her sword to dig into his exposed flesh, but the pain never came Ivan never felt the fine stroke of her blade tearing his body apart, and extinguishing his life. Instead his eyes observed as the woman who had just charged him with killer intent fell to her knees before him, those powerful arms would lower themselves to either side of his body as his golden eyes remained fixed on her body. Ivan said nothing, not because he had nothing to say but simply because he wanted her to feel this, he wanted her to understand that she wasn't a monster. A true monster would be cold with an empty soul, this is something Zero was not, and in a way Ivan felt this pain, this confusion that was causing her to lose her composure was good for her. As much as it pained him to see her like this, he held himself back the urge to embrace her, and comfort her being ignored for the time being, all the while Zero said what bits she could force out between her sobs, and tears.
When the woman was done crying Ivan would remain silent, his heart ached to see her in this state, and he could no longer observe all he do was hope that Zero understood now that she was not a monster. Ivan would walk over to her side letting his legs bend so that he could kneel next to her. Ivan would watch her a moment longer, feeling his own eyes soften the sharp golden spheres that normally glared at this woman now stared at her with nothing but caring love beaming in them. Ivan would reach down for Zero, his hand brushing away her hair from the side to expose the side of her tear stained face, for some reason he smiled not because he enjoyed seeing her like this but because he knew that he was getting through to her. As for her question about why he could love her? Well he had a pretty simple answer to that one, an answer he was happy to share...
"Love blooms in the most unique of ways, at first I hated you. You humiliated me in this very spot, you always toyed with me, and despite my greatest efforts I always seem to fall short of your strength..." he paused as his arms wrapped around Zero one more time, this time the embrace was more gentle but all the same as meaningful as before. His bare body pressed against hers as he leaned his face in, his nose nuzzling the crown of her head taking in her scent, resting his chin atop her head once more he took in a deep breath. "But at the end of it all, after I saw you that night consumed by a blinding rage. It was after that night that I realized I could not hate you, because somewhere along the road I fell for you. With the loss of my tribe, you became my only constant my pillar...despite our battles, those nights we spent together. Things changed...I'm sorry I cant explain this any better. But I can tell you that from here on out, I will always be here Zero, you are not alone, you are not a monster, and I will stand by your side to prove this to you...I will show you my love is genuine" with that Ivan would go silent. He had said his piece, he had poured it all out for her. Now all he could do was wait, his arms remained around Zero if she wanted to scratch him, hit him, or hug him back he did not mind all he knew was that after this night...their relationship would never be the same.

HOW CAN YOU LOVE A MONSTER?
Every fibre in her being felt numb and exposed; the cold chilled her as she cried and memories flooded her mind as she finally just gave in and let go. Never before had she felt so broken never had she felt like she wasn’t in control of her emotions. Before Ivan it was simple, life that is. She travelled solo, only had to contend with bounty hunters that eventually gave up looking. But Ivan, the crazy upstart Ivan had to pick her to hunt. Then the reason why she felt the need to have him around….she didn’t want to admit it yet she couldn’t and she least of all wanted to hear his words. She didn’t want to know he loved her she didn’t want to give into that because then it was real and all this pain she felt would be worse – all of it. He can’t love her, no; he shouldn’t for she knew she couldn’t give him all he wanted – how could she when she had no idea when her life would run out.
She felt his body drop to her side and then his arms warm and strong, warm around her shaken frame. She had no strength to push him off her and all she could do was listen to his story and how he hated her all the way to his confession. Somewhere during it she had raised her hands into fists and begun to pound his chest, her head was moving left and right as she wanted to block out those words again. “No-no-no.” she heard her voice, finding her words she started to build the courage or maybe it was just that sheer determination to not admit what this was. “Stop” she begged as she pushed away from him, forcing him to let go of her as she moved away from him. Her body still on the ground but she had managed to put a foot between them with her back now facing him and her head looking at the ground.
“You can’t love me; I can’t be your pillar. I…” she took a breath, how could she begin to explain this when her head and her heart were fighting. “You don’t understand…” She finally said after she had managed to control her breathing and hysteria. “I am not meant to even be here. I mean…I shouldn’t be alive…” Her voice was quiet and controlled as she raised her hands, her fingers coming to the back of her neck to where the straps to her dress were. Taking a deep breath she willed her fingers to move and undo the tie there, slowly her fabric that covered her chest would fall and she would move her fingers undo the tie under her bust until her entire back was exposed to him. She pulled her hair to the sides and over her chest – for some reason she felt the need to keep her modesty so she left her long silver locks fall over her breasts even though he couldn’t see them.
What she had exposed to him was a long scar down the centre of her back between her shoulder blades. The scar has long since healed but it now looked like raised skin over her spine. It was the width similar to Ivan’s cleaver. “A year ago I got news of bandits crossing into our borders and making harm for people.” She began her story in the hopes that he will understand why he can’t love her. “I travelled there alone thinking that I could take them – that there wasn’t going to be many…. I was an idiot. I managed to kill the ones that were there but some had run back and retreated. I thought they had but they returned with more….the way you saw me, the fury and rage…I was like that then and I didn’t feel anything they did to me, no hit, not cut, nothing, I feel nothing when she takes me….But it was too much, I was overwhelmed but…it was ok I thought. I would die protecting my country.” She scoffed at herself as she said that last part before continuing “I had died there…It was dark and black and I died – there was no life in me left. This is why I can’t love you; this is why I can’t be the one that keep you going because I am the walking dead.” Zero chuckled at her words; she knew she would be confusing him so she thought to put him out of his misery “Orik… Orik brought me back…If I take this flower off…I’ll die all over again…” Her words weighed heavy between them as she didn’t say any more for a moment so that they sunk in.
“This is why you can’t love me.”

I will hunt you down... He held her for a moment longer before she started fighting him, it seemed her weakened state was starting to be pushed aside by whatever feeling was driving her to do this but Ivan allowed it he did not fight it because he knew that Zero needed to do this. Just how he had to face the reality when he found himself secluded in the deep forest of Hryst, when he ran into Etro, and allowed his emotions to pour out of him; just how he accepted what he had realized. He knew Zero had to accept the same if she wanted to become a better person, a better her if at the end of it all. He watched her in silence, all he could do is observe with his eyes, and listen with his ears as she continued to bombard him with reasons to why she didn't want him to love her. To be frank he had heard enough of her excuse, but just as he was about to walk towards her, and shake some sense into her the woman would take her clothing off at least from her torso revealing something Ivan had never noticed. Even if he thought back to the times when they spent the nights together, he could not say he ever noticed that scar that prominent scar that etched itself into her perfect skin; it almost broke an illusion that Ivan had of Zero, that she was untouchable.
Her words as much as the origins of that scar confused Ivan, what did she mean she shouldn't be alive? Had Zero been through a near death experience? Then her story began, the tale of the bandits, and her foolish endeavor to wipe them out; Ivan knew this woman was strong, never would he question her skills with a sword but at the same time even he knew that no one person could take on such overwhelming odds. Either way the man listened in silence as the woman explained her story, when she was done however she went back to the same old song to claiming he could not love her, to claiming she was not meant to be loved. Ivan allowed her to say her piece until she was done, once she was she hit him one last time with those words the very same words that were rejecting Ivan. But at the same time he wondered if she kept repeating them not for him, but more for herself; to make herself believe what she was trying to make him believe.
Ivan walked towards Zero, he approached her until he was close enough to her having grabbed his coat on the way there. He would hold it in his right hand looking down at her, his towering form casting a shadow over her petite frame "You are an idiot!" he snapped at her, Ivan threw his coat on her allowing it to cling to her figure he did not want to see her scar. That scar was the past, a past that had left this woman broken, and alone a scar that represented a time Ivan had no interest in knowing about. Some would say this was selfish of him, but he would respond this is for her own good she must move on, and he was going to help her do just that. Reaching down the brute gripped her arm coat, and all pulling the woman to her feet if he had to hold her weight up then he would but once she faced him both hands grasped onto either arm. His eyes looking at her face whether her eye returned the stare he didn't care....
"Orik, that flower, your past...I don't care for any of that. Your past made you who you are, and it is who you are that I fell in love with. You will die when that flower is plucked from your eye? Then I will give soul and limb to prevent that flower from ever being pulled out. I will die before you die, because I will always protect you. You think this story scares me, you think it changes how I feel!?" he was not expecting an answer from her, so he continued with his words. "You keep saying I can't love you, you keep saying that like you don't deserve it, like if you're some beast that deserves to be put down. If you were such a monster I would not be standing here anymore, I would be a corpse on the ground, and you would walk away without so much as a bat of the eyelash. But that's not the case is it!?" his voice boomed again as he glared at her, his eyes intense and beaming not with hatred but with concern. A concern that rooted itself deep inside Ivan, and was blossoming with the rest of his emotions; he was done hearing her say no, he was done hearing say she didn't deserve it. So it was time for him to get her to say something...
"You say I cant love you? You say I can't be with you? If you believe all this then ask me why you never pushed me away before, why you didn't kill me just now when you had the chance?....and Zero don't you dare say you don't know. I do NOT care if we are here all night, I want you to dig deep, and find the answer...I want you to tell me why I'm not dead, I want you to tell me why your blade couldn't cut me despite your claims of being a monster..." Ivan was done talking but his hands did not release her from his grip. He held her, he was not going to let go if she wanted to make him let go then she had better have a hidden dagger to slice him open with. Because he was here for the long run, and he was not giving up on her not now, and not ever.

HOW CAN YOU LOVE A MONSTER?
He called her an idiot, his words awakening her to the point that she raised her head wide eyed as he draped his coat over her shoulders. She actually felt her hands reach up to hold the ends and pulled the fabric around her body. Zero was silent and didn’t know what more to say – she had to make him understand, that’s how she felt but why couldn’t she believe her own words…
It was then that she felt her arm tug and her whole body lift as his grip pulled her to her feet – she tried to pull away but he turned her to face him. Both his hands now held her arms tight, her body was protesting to the point that she was not even supporting herself; it was his own strength keeping her upright with her head tilted up at him, her eye staring into his. She listened to him, closed her eye at the parts she didn’t want to hear but opened them again when she felt the passion mixed with anger and frustration in what he was saying.
Tears rolled down her cheeks again as she tried to block it out but she couldn’t. She knew he wouldn’t let her go, she knew that now, not ever would he let her go and she screamed when he told her she had to tell him, had to give him a reason why. Shaking her head she cried more and tried to pull away but he was relentless and she was forced to look at him though this time she had fury in her own eyes.
“Because I love you! Are you happy now!?” She hung her head then and stopped fighting his grip. “I can’t…I couldn’t kill you…” Her voice was weak again, the fury gone and she choked on her next words.
“Because…I love you.”

I will hunt you down... She was struggling even now she was fighting his grip, she wanted him to let go but he would not let up he was not going to give her the privilege to just run away from this. So he waited until she stopped her struggling, but what came next would hit Ivan like a brick wall was it what he wanted to hear, yes. But he was not as ready as he believed himself to be when she said it his grip actually loosened not enough to allow her to drop, but it loosened enough to relieve the pressure he may have been placing on her arms. He stood there in silence listening, his mind trying to wrap around what she had just said it was only when she said it again that he would snap back to reality. The large mans heart would skip a beat, and his arms would pull Zero in close a single arm held her pressed against his bare body even with the coat on her frame he could feel subtle brushes of her bare torso against his own exposed body. His other hand would tug at her chin raising Zeros head up towards him, when her face was facing up his own face was close to hers, their warm breath crashing against each other. The cold sweeping winds chilled his bare back but he paid no attention to it, he was holding the woman he loved in his arms if anything Ivan could say he had found the one thing his father always told him about but he never quite understood.
A beacon, a pillar, whatever he called it his father always told him that when he found her, the one person he would selflessly give his life to preserve then it was his duty as a Zuni to hold onto her, and never let go. This is what he found in Zero, but most unlikely of them all was the one who represented that unbound joy that Ivan had never truly known, not until now, not until she said those words to him. When she said those words Zero had opened the flood gates she had given him what he wanted, his method may have been unorthodox but Zero was not an orthodox woman to begin with. But Ivan didn't care all he knew was that Zero was his as she had said earlier, his lips lingered near hers so close that he could brush the surface of his lips against hers without having to even move. "Zero..." he whispered her name his warm breath caressing her exposed lips, his eyes locked onto hers, and that same hand that held her chin would run up to caress her cheek softly. The smooth surface of her skin being spoiled with the gentle touch of his hand.
"I love you" he said without a pause, without hesitation. Ivan couldn't explain it but some tears rolled down his cheek, even with them on his features a soft smile though very subtle was there. His arm embraced her gently, and his other hand remained on her face caressing her skin. The larger man only stared at her his soul, mind, and body lost in this moment that would forever be etched into his memory, could it get any better?

HOW CAN YOU LOVE A MONSTER?
She couldn’t believe her words, didn’t quite register that they had actually slipped from her lips. What she did feel after saying the words was a sense of relief. She finally let her body relax into him and his hard grip on her milky skin relaxed, she hadn’t noticed till then that he had been holding her so tight. He then pulled her body against his, the thumping of his heart in his chest a constant reminder that this was real. The warmth of his body kept her in this moment as his skin brushed against the part of her that was still exposed from his jacket. Zero felt like she could be swallowed by this moment, but his presence and but this intense feeling she felt. It scared her to think that she let it get this far, she vowed to never love and to never be loved. She felt that she had nothing to give a man and that in this world she was simply to be a vessel. However, since being reborn that very day by the hand of Orik she had experienced so much more in her new life. Zero tried to push the feelings away but there were always times it got too much and all she could do was accept. Accept that not everyone was like she knew them from childhood and that there was good in this world she lived in, lived in on borrowed time. Even Ivan had proved her wrong this night – he wouldn’t let her go, he called her every bluff and broke down her every wall and when she couldn’t stand any longer he stood for her.
As his hand came to rest on her back and his other slowly moved over her form to caress her cheek she felt him tilt her lips to his. His breath tickled her tear stained cheeks but she didn’t pull away. Her eye fixed on his, her thoughts going through what all this would mean now. Never in her life had she thought she would feel this, would experience loving someone so much that she wanted nothing in life but to be with them and achieve with them. She stayed silent as he called her name, not the names he had given her but her real name. Zero closed her eyes letting that moment last, she even rested her cheek into his hand and smiled gently. What came next though made another tear fall from her cheek and roll over his fingertips. He told her he loved her and she just let that sit with her, smiled slightly as another wave of relief washed over her. She reach her hand up to his cheek now, whipping the tears from them – his jacket falling from her body leaving her bare once again. She tilted her head forward now, causing his to move with hers as her forehead came to rest on his. Words weren’t needed anymore, she just needed him and this moment to last. She loved him, and he loved her. It’s all that mattered now, just him and her.
