Any other clues on the twin timbers, she used the image in her mind. Trying to find anything that made them seem outstanding than the features that seemed dull and insignificant, her eyes widened when she say it. “uhm..they are stripped for winter.. there is an arrow in the left twin.. green feathers.” She spoke as if in a daze before going back to looking at the pad of parchment, the three letters glaring at her angrily. S. H. I. Why was there nothing else, she felt as if her name was longer than that? Her dual colored eyes closed as she felt water trying to escape, she did not want to cry. She had woken up crying but she does not remember why, maybe it had to do with those strange images.
Again he touched her and her mind flared a red flash, she trembled. His fingers encased her with wanted warmth and yet her mind waved a red flag, touch was bad? Something inside her argued with that question but her mind could not help but feel as if it was wrong, a cold image of those rough fingertips over her shoulders before fading away once more. Her dual gaze followed to his face, his concern caused her eyes to water once more. Quickly she nodded her head, too fast. Her fingers slipped from his as she let them touch her temples, static filled her vision for a moment. Dizzy. Her mind corrected her.
His words surprised her, stay with him for the time being. She felt as if that was strange, to travel with someone you just met but he had saved her twice. Again she nodded but this time more slowly to not create a head rush, her eyes watching him cautiously as he asked for a pillow. This time she shook her head, she felt as if it was wrong to take the bed form him. This was his room. “I-I can sl-slepp on the couch.. or-” Her voice cut off as she tried to think of what else they could do, her cheeks flushed at the thought she decided to voice. “You-you can sl-sleep on the o-other side..”

He listened to her explain the trees. Still not much information other than the green feathers. He wasn't aware of any animal in Hryst or Aquavia that had green feathers. Perhaps there was one in Domhan Tir that did that he did not know about. It was looking more and more like she originated from Domhan Tir than the other two. "Every clue you give me points more and more to Domhan Tir. Which is lucky for you, I will be heading there once the water routes are reopened after the thaw. I may be able to help you find your family if they are there."
He stared at her as she stammered about sleeping on the bed together. He looked up at her face which was quickly becoming redder with each passing second. He weighed his options quickly. First, he would have to sleep on the floor or couch, neither of which were entirely comfortable. Second, she slept on either the couch or floor but he wasn't about to allow that to happen. And third, they both slept on the bed together which could end up in any form of uncomfortable or embarrassing situations, but was entirely more comfortable than the other two options, for both of them. Aaron sighed a bit before taking his leather jacket off and hanging it on a hook. "I suppose we can share the bed for tonight and see how it works."
He was staring at the wall next to his jacket thinking. The next day, he needed to bring her to where he found her. He needed to figure out what happened and make those responsible suffer the consequences. Aaron fumed for a second before closing his eyes and calming himself down. He reached back to take off his shirt and pulled it halfway up his back before he remembered her sitting behind him. He let it fall back over his skin and turned back to her. "Do you need to change into night time clothes?" The small duffle bag she had brought looked like it could only hold a few articles of clothing but perhaps there was something in there that she used to sleep in. He usually slept without a shirt but he wasn't about to do that with her around. He didn't want her to feel anymore awkward that she already did.

Where it was again, he said the name of the providence and spoke of how that seemed to be the correct point of origin but why was she here in Hyrst? She did not understand why but she did remember the faint smell of peppermint and another herb on her hands before she had another sponge bath by the overly kind blonde nurse, was that suppose to mean something too? She did not know but she nodded slowly as if she understood what it was he was saying, he was going to be in that area after the water was no longer ice. Staying by his side seemed like the rational thing to do but her mind still saw red when it came to any action but less what she suggested, what was she saying?
Static filled her vision once more. Dizzy, that was the correct word right? She watched as he stood up and shook off his leather jacket, hanging it on a hook. A light lit up as she moved her fingers over her own over coat, following his actions by placing it on an identical hook next to his fur lined piece of clothing. As she headed back to the mattress she allowed her body to fall into the welcoming soft material of the blankets, the bouncing started to subside only to have her gaze freeze at his actions.
His hands were at the hem of his ivory shirt and already it was halfway off of his body, her eyes fell to his bare skin and in an instant her cheeks flushed crimson. Quickly the cloth was replaced and she moved her eyes away from him, trying to hide her embarrassment. His question distracted her and she got up quickly only to feel her feet catch up with the staggering feeling, her hands colliding with the chair he was sitting in. Again she tried and moved to pick up her duffle bag, sliding to the floor to open the clasps and pear inside. Something to sleep in? Her eyes scanned the articles of clothing; a pale peach cloth was grazed with her fingers and felt like a different material. It felt softer, and the laces in the back were different than the other clothes in the bag. Slowly she took off her shoes and was about to grab the hem of her dress but she stopped and turned around, still sting on her knees of the floor.
She tried to think that he was not looking over in her direction as she unstrapped a few buckles at her waist and removed the dress from over her head, revealing a pale colored set of underwear. She winced at the motion, more bruises could be seen most around her waist and disappearing between her thighs but she tried not to think of those. Replacing clothing over her body, the pale peach clothing.
She got up once more, trying to tie the pink laces on her back but failed before flopping back on the mattress making it bounce once more.

He watched her stumble over to her bag. She looked like she was still being affected from her head injury she suffered. He moved closer to steady her until she began undressing. He noticed her pale skin and underwear before he spun around quickly. The action had surprised him. He could feel his face become warm with a slight blush. He wasn't used to this kind of reaction, of course, he also didn't usually stay around a person such as her for very long. And especially not long enough to sleep with them. He heard the bed creak as she bounced on it. He turned back to look at her small form sprawled across the bed. He moved over to the bed slowly watching her before lying beside her with his back to her and facing the wall.
He pulled the blanket from the foot of the bed and up over them both before turning out the light. "Sleep well Shy," he said softly and closed his eyes. Thought swirled in front of his eyes. Always the same ones before he went to sleep. Thoughts and memories of his childhood, training with his sword and with guns. Interactions with his family. Racing bikes against his sister. He cycled through the memories before stopping on more recent ones. Finding a young girl with freezing skin almost turning blue in the snow. The red blood flowing from her cuts and a gash across her head. Running with her through the snow to the hospital. Blood getting on his clothes. Blood dripping onto the white snow. Blood. Snow. Red. White. He fell asleep to a single drop of red splashing against a surface of white.

Her small form took up not much of her side of the bed and yet he made sure to put enough space between tem so that their backs were not even close to touching and yet his weight in the mattress was a considerable amount more than her own. It caused the mattress to cause a crease towards the middle and she had to think about not allowing her frame to slip into the divot, she would be too close then. Her face grew hotter as the blood rushed to her cheeks, feeling the covers being pulled over him as well as her own body. The action hitched her night gown up slightly but this was hidden by the comforter, it was welcoming and warm. For a moment a gentle memory of a singing box, chiming a tune that could only be described as a lullaby to put a child to sleep.
Her lashes fluttered against her cheeks as she started to drift off into the welcoming darkness, a singular memory still plagued her mind. As she started to drift further her body shook but not from the cold that the window brought in after a harsh gust of wind opened the broken latch, surely that chill would get to her soon. Instead the images started to piece together, the soft sound of her eels against the snow covered ground. Another echo seemed to form behind her, louder, heavier. She clutched the duffle bag closer to her side as she started to feel a gust of warm air behind her, a red flag signaled in her mind.
Her fingers clutched at the mattress as the dream continued, but the dream was not pleasant. It turned bad quickly and a muffled whine came from her sleeping form until she fell silent, the only sound from the open window that was causing more cold air to drift into their little room the only heat was from their prone frames.

Aaron awoke to the bright sun shining in from the once again open window. The wind of the previous day had stopped but the window had been open long enough that all of the heat had left. He began to stretch when he felt the small form pressed against his chest. He opened his eyes slowly confused as to who was in his bed. He blinked at the bright light before looking down at the strawberry blonde girl curled tightly against his chest. The previous night's events rushed back to him and he sighed. This was what he had expected to happen with two people sleeping in the same bed. He studied her sleeping form. She had her head pressed against his chest with her small hands full in his shirt. Her legs were between his and her body was pressed tightly against his.
He slowly moved his leg from above her accidentally pulling the blanket with it. The cold air touched her skin and he shivered and pulled herself closer to him. He looked back down at her. He couldn't see her face but he could feel her hands squeeze his shirt as she moved closer. He moved his leg again putting the blanket back but kept his leg off of her. He tried moving away but she held tight and didn't let him move. He sighed and closed his eyes lying there with her. He waited for her to wake up. He put his arms around her just in case she freaked out and pushed off of him. He'd rather not want to see her hurt herself again if he could help it.

The dream turned into a nightmare, events played over in her mind but things were still missing. She did not remember how she got pressed against the wall, where the cool metal object had appeared from. Even the location was skewed in her dream but there was no mistaking the pain of the cold metal biting at her flesh, again she whimpered but this time her small fingers clutched at something warmer than the soft mattress. She clutched tighter at whatever it was started to move, warmth had embraced her as she moved her skull further along the unknown hardness. It did not give like a pillow and yet she felt safer, the dreams started to face and another movement caused her to stir.
Her strawberry colored lashes fluttered as she gave a gentle groan at the movement, something encased her. Completing a warm circle over her chilled back, somehow the lacing had come completely undone and her back was now bare. Skin to skin contact allowed the warmth of his body to flow into her, and again she nuzzled at his chest not knowing exactly what she was doing. A sound, a sigh finally allowed her mind to lift its darkness as sunlight started to filter into her eyes. They snapped close once more, again she groaned. The morning was too bright, why was it so bright? She did not remember the curtains being so open when they fell asleep, why were they open now?
Again she tried to open her eyes, slower this time before she clutched whatever was close to her again. Stretching against him, pressing her body against his side. A flag went off; her frame froze in mid stretch. Suddenly she was too aware of what it was that was keeping her warm, her dual gaze fell on his ivory shirt that she had clutched so desperately in her sleep. A soft ‘eep’ came from her lips as she unhooked her fingers from the color of his shirt, she tried to wiggle away but his arm against her back kept her still. She froze again noticing her back was bare against his arm, well this was quite the predicament.

He felt her stirring more as sleep faded away. A small sound escaped her lips as she realized where she was. She wiggled in his arms a bit before stopping. The skin touching his arm was soft and smooth. He slowly moved his arms away. "Sorry, I didn't want you pushing away and falling off the bed." He sat up slowly and shivered feeling the cold air of the room. He looked down at her still wrapped up in the blanket. He got up and closed the window and turned the heater on. "It'll take a bit of time for the heat to fill the room. You stay here and get warm. I'm going to go down and get us some food." He quickly took his shirt off showing his pale skin and lean muscles. He pulled anothr shirt out and put it on before donning his jacket. He looked back over at her very flushed face and smiled very slightly before leaving the room to get food. They had a journey ahead of them. And Aaron wasn't about to let things like sleeping bother him.

He moved his arm, his fingers trailing up her bare skill quickly but still, she felt her body flush with heat. He spoke about not wanting her to fall off the bed by pushing off of him and she simply nodded, allowing his chest to escape from being made her pillow. For a moment she staying in the same position, embarrassed to let her face be seen by him. She had reach over to him in her sleep, moved so that she trapped him by her grip and even cuddled him for a lack of a better word. The blood rushed to her face so fast that she could hear her heart pounding in her ears as he closed the window and the gentle hum of the heater returned, its warmth struggling with the chilled room.
He spoke again and she moved to face him just as his ivory shirt disappeared, if she thought she could not feel more hear in her face she was wrong. Her cheeks felt as if they were set aflame, her ear were even burning and yet she did not look away. He smiled at her and all she could do was bury her crimson flushed face into the covers, the door clicked closed and she regained her breathe. So this is what every morning was going to be like? The teenager shook her head against the comforter she pulled over her head, she was going to die of embarrassment before they reach the land of trees.
