William smiled as he watched Gareth examining the finished sword. He, then, watched as he used his sword to control the flames of his furnace a bit and smiled. He turned back as the traveler spoke and nodded his head. “I will remember that,” he said. “I may send contracts your way for more ore deliveries. So be on the lookout for letters delivered to you from me. They’ll have the symbol on my sign out front on the wax and all the details of it there.” He smiled and nodded to the man. “Thank you. I’ll make sure to pay you what you are due with any deliveries and help you take care of your sword and knife.” He smiled then turned around and began putting his tools and things away, nodding to what Gareth had to say.
“Go right ahead,” he said over his shoulder. “I’ll probably be up there in a minute, myself. I just need to close up shop, down here, then I’ll need to get some shut-eye.” He smiled and turned to him again. “If I don’t see you before you leave, have a safe trip wherever you’re going. I’ll have the back gate and front door locked and the key will be in my office on the desk. All I ask is that, when you leave, you lock up and put the key back where you found it. The front door can be opened from the inside without needing to be unlocked so you can use that to leave after you’ve locked the back door.”
With that, he let Gareth do what he wished, himself moving about dousing the fire of the furnace and locking the front and back up. Once done, he placed the key in the middle of the table with a special lamp by it. The flame in the lamp neither gave off smoke nor went out though it certainly acted and looked like regular flame. It wasn’t very bright but it lit the office up enough to see the key and be able to move around in it without tripping or running into anything. Once Will had finished up with that, he moved upstairs to his bedroom and fell into bed, falling asleep long before he even hit the pillow.
