Sylas had pretty much forgotten the rules of the fight. The strange dart had landed a solid blow and thus, ended the fight. Her laugh was disarming and Sylas' gaze lost its tension. He began to stand normally and watched her walk about the battle ground. By this time, everyone in the training ground circled around the arena. All in shock and awe at the display of the two warriors facing off. He lost the fight. Though he never expected to completely win either. He couldn't see himself wounding the captain. Even if she did fight him forwardly, wounding her would have caused a mess.
Sylas felt the sting in his arm as the Captain mentioned it. He looked to the wound and should have cringed but his face was a mask. He's suffered worse. He'd just go get it treated. He exhaled sharply and the energy slowly disappeared. He brought the blade back to its sheathe and watched the captain as she spoke.
He offered a military salute and addressed her though this time he had his eyes on her. "It was an honor getting the chance to fight you." He said, putting subtle emphasis on the word 'honor'. The young Sylas offered a rare sight. He smiled at the captain. It was mainly the humor in knowing that she did not respect the honor he exhibited. But also because he believed in civility among seasoned warriors. Even though she got her win by nasty tricks it was still a win and a damn good one. He admired her skill.
He smiled again at her mention of taking him for dinner though deciding she wasn't serious about it he only nodded. As she walked away he began to walk back into the crowd of recruits. Some parting before him as he moved through the crowd toward the building. A medic was already there to treat his wound.
This was the thrill he needed in his life. The thrill of battle. He only regretted having to go through several years before he can actually be admitted into the military. He'd have to deal with all of lower level recruits until he would be able to qualify. Maybe this fight would help him somehow. It's not every day a recruit fights an officer, and lives to tell the tale.
