THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE ALWAYS EARNED Aaron sat at a table downstairs from the room he and Shy were sharing. Since that first night, he hadn't been able to learn anything. He'd gone back to where he found her by himself. He'd gone to the hospital to see what the nurses had to say. He had even gone to the law to find out anything. Nothing had come up. The only things he hadn't tried were to check her body for clues, for obvious reason, and take her to the spot of the attack. He'd been afraid to do that because he wasn't sure what affect it would have on her. But he was beginning to think it might be the only ways to learn anything about what had happened.
Aaron thought about the past few days of living with Shy. That first night had been embarrassing enough for her that he'd decied to sleep on the couch for a couple nights. The previous night he'd started sleeping on the couch but she had a nightmare of some kind so he went over and held her until she calmed down. He hadn't meant to fall asleep but instead, he woke up once again with her clinging to his shirt. He'd waited once again until she was awake before moving but her face was still very flushed from everything.
He sat thinking about her and puzzling about what he could do to figure her out. He sighed and decided the only thing that he had left was to take her to the alley that he found her in. He needed to do it that day so that maybe she would be able to remember at least some small clue as to what happened to her or why. He finished his drink before heading back up to the room where she still was. Due to decency, he'd walked out of the room whenever she took a shower or did anything private. He opened the door not knowing what he would be walking into.

Dreams, nightmares, sleep. They all meant the same thing to the child-like mind of this grown woman, oblivious to the world as her eyes remained closed for the time being. To be honest those days she curled up in the too large of bed when her newly found companion spent the night on a couch that was not quite his size, she felt lonely. She liked having him there but did not particularly like the way they seemed to wake up when in that position, she seemed to always gravitate towards him, cling to him while she chased the bad dreams away. Was he the one that scared the monsters from her mind, it certainly helped when she woke him up with a start. A scream rather, he curled around her instinctively and she did not feel flustered as he held her and sooth her nerves from the nightmare.
As of now she had just gotten out of the oversized mattress, dual colored eyes blinking rapidly to remove the remnence of sleep form her mind and vision. The child looked around the room, something was missing. She looked to the couch then to the open door of the bathroom, he was not here. Sleepy toes helped carry her to the bathroom, slowly turning on the facet that connected to the shower. Now was a good time to do this so she would not have to worry about him leaving the room for her to do so, shedding her close she allowed the warm water to wash away the sweat from her dreams and worries of this world fall into the drain.
She huffed quietly to herself as she finished her cleaning, looking into the streams of liquid before blinking rapidly. Who was she? With the water now off she moved to dry herself, moving freely around the room with a towel over her body. She took out a few pieces of clothing, pale green short dress along with a checkerboard pattern pair of stockings. She would just use her rose embroidered overcoat if they went out; her towel fell from her body as she stepped into her undergarments and clipped her bra into place. Next her rolled the stockings onto her pale legs, the last thing to do was put her dress on. A sound caused her to turn, her right hand extended to the towel now lying on the ground. Her gaze fell on an open door and then her vision filled with her companion’s feature, her face started to heat up. Quickly she fell t her knees, her hands grasping the towel just quick enough to pull it up to her chest. Her eyes still staring up at Aaron.

THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE ALWAYS EARNED The door opened and Aaron was face to face with a very flushed, once again, Shy. Her eyes were directly at him as she clung to the towel hiding her body. He noticed immediately after that she was wearing very. He quickly closed his eyes and stepped into the room shutting the door. He turned his back to her and kept his eyes closed. "I'm sorry Shy. I didn't know you would be changing." He kept his back to her and his eyes closed as she finished dressing. He avoided thinking about what he had seen of her by thinking of the plan he'd created downstairs.
He planned to take her down to the alley that he found her in to see if the sight would be able to give her a flash of any kind of memory. He wasn't sure if it would work but he didn't have any other options yet until they left to Domhan Tir. And only the gods knew when that would be. The snow had started receding a bit but it was still cold and white out. He didn't like the cold and he'd had more than enough for his entire life of it here in Hryst.
