bass female eighteen Aquavia wanderer bisexual | a p p e a r a n c e _______________________________ decipi frons prima multos violet locks cover her head, messy and straight. their shade is that of the sky during a setting sun, which faces the twilight and heralds the night with it's brilliant twilight color. her hair near her back stops at the middle of her neck, and she has long sideburns that frame her face. bangs fall without direction, stopping at her eyebrows. Her jaw is triangular in shape, and seems to be in between the shape of a teenager and of an adult. her face isn't long or wide, only a neat and orderly rectangle. bass has a small mouth that doesn't seem to move a lot unless truly important. her nose is also triangular, and somewhat long compared to most other girls. her eyes shine a brilliant yet melancholy gold, as if they were the shining sunset to the violet sky seen in her hair. the sunset speaks of silent promises, regrets, and experiences both glorious and sorrowful. bass has a rather streamline body that doesn't have many curves, but is very smooth and lacks any awkwardness in her movement. her skin is pale, nearly an alabaster white, like she hasn't seen sunlight in years. fat doesn't come to her in truly great proportions, but her hips and thighs tend to stick out. her feet are somewhat small, and seem to be nimble. her top consists of a white sailor fuku with a cyan collar and a crimson stripe, with a matching crimson bow holding the collar in place. underneath is an undershirt with an aquamarine triangular area and a stylized red 'M' in the middle, which sticks out. over that is an open black cardigan. the sailor fuku is tucked into a cyan skirt which barely reaches her knees, which has a matching belt over it. both the skirt and cardigan have pockets on the inside that hold various tools and items. black kneesocks cover her legs, which go into class-a height, also known as 'absolute territory'. she wears leather penny loafers. bass masamune is 5' 7" and weighs 134 lbs. p e r s o n a l i t y _______________________________ facta non verba a good word for bass's personality would be 'primal'. she normally goes with what her instincts tell her before really logically thinking about what she's about to do, and stays true to her basic needs of food, water, and rest. she doesn't need much. she tends to have a rather animal-like curiosity and pokes and prods things to see how they work, despite the possible consequences in the future. bass lives for the here-and-now, not for what might be or what was. she's also very diligent in her work to make up for her shortcomings in social disregard. possessing a mind of hard work and concentration, bass can keep a focus on a lot of things and do any task that she was given with absolute fervor, simply for the reward of getting something done. even if she messes up a few times, that never really gets her down and just makes her try harder at the job at hand. bass is a woman of very few words, and lets her hands talk for her. she likes to stay silent and doesn't speak unless spoken to, keeping to herself and doing what she's doing without caring for others or general companionship. unfortunately, this also leaves her as a little apathetic of others and having a misunderstanding of other people. when a person is openly sad, yeah, she tries her best to comfort them, but when they hide it, bass barely sees it. fortunately, this also means she has some pretty funny and overblown expressions that make up for the more intense of verbal usages. a defining trait of bass is that she's brave. yeah, she might not have the tactical ability that others have, and only really fights physically, but when she throws a fist, she means it with all her heart. never backing down, she shows a penchant for being fearless and a knack for going in strong and coming out strong. bass tries not to get mad at people, despite her blunt and impulsive behavior. but when she gets angry, she gets pretty damn furious. beastly and illogical whenever her temper rises, she doesn't even care about others and plows right ahead, only wishing to destroy her target and nothing more. she even roars like a dinosaur sometimes. her burning rage lasts pretty damn long at times, and boils down into an eternal hatred of whoever or whatever she's so pissed off. despite her primitive personality, bass has a deep caring for those who can't fight for themselves. she may not truly get their problems, or tell when they're feeling bad, but she tries her hardest to make their life better, by either brutal force against their enemies or by an awkward hug from somebody who knows what it's like but can't express it well. she hates anybody who takes advantage over others, and always tries to help out everybody, even if she might break things at the end. tl;dr, she's a hardworking animal who likes helping people. a b i l i t i e s / s k i l l s _______________________________ Ultima ratio regum prima yamato: a huge mechanical weapon in the shape of a tyrannosaurus rex, the prima yamato is bass's ultimatum to everything she ever accomplished in life. with fresh lavender-white paint and an obsidian finish, the prima yamato stands at about fifteen feet tall and twenty-five feet long. It's design is somewhat chunky and not as elegant as others, but it makes it up with the power that is behind the system. it moves almost as if it were actually alive, but a few clunks are visible here and there. The cockpit is within the chest area, and is accessible through a detaching plate via voice recognition.it is piloted somewhat strangely; instead of the average area of control, a controller similar to a video game console is plugged in. the prima yamato controls and is programmed as if it were a player in a fighting game, with command combos allowing different movements. any maintenance and emergency controls are placed to the side, but otherwise, the front of the cockpit consists of a screen that shows the camera feed from the eyes, and the controller. a notable area of the prima nagato is that the dinosaur-like mecha has large claw attachments, about fifteen meters in length. these attachments, when extended forwards, can open and close as well as assault anything in a limited number of ways. they can rotate at a rapid pace to do damage, or even charge themselves with electricity for the most split of seconds in order to get anything off of them. the prima nagato is sufficiently strong for a fifteen foot tall t-rex lookalike, and can break down concrete walls with ease. however, more solid items such as rock or compacted steel may prove troublesome. it's jaws, claws, tail and feet are fully functional and are able to provide strength and versatility if it were to get in a fight. however, it's also very slow in a real-time battle, somewhat clumsy, and has most of the weaknesses a tyrannosaurus rex would have if it were alive. it's only redeeming quality in speed is the thrusters it has which are reserved for 'veni, vidi, vici'. smell, touch, and taste are not available to the prima nagato, and it can only see where it's eyes are. it would be very easy to launch a surprise attack from behind, if you were smart about it. coded in are three special attacks, utilized by inputting a special movement and hitting two buttons. these have a cooldown of five minutes after usage. tenka fubu - half circle forward, heavy, medium. the prima nagato charges it's attachments with electricity for a few seconds, then drills them forwards, as if to lunge at the enemy. it can normally drill apart a boulder or a thin layer of concrete, and put a few holes in steel. this can be aimed either straight forwards or at a downward angle, so as to strike the ground. veni, vidi, vici - dragon punch forward, medium, light. the prima nagato utilizes it's reserve thrusters and blasts forwards in a headfirst charge, gliding off the ground for about three seconds before coming to a screeching halt as the thrusters deactivate and it lands. the force is best compared to a battering ram, and is very strong, but it cannot be directed or steered once moving forwards. the charge can normally go from one end of a street to the other. if - quarter circle backward, light, heavy. the prima nagato lets out a deafening roar at maximum volume from a sound system in it's mouth, which can hurt and slightly overload the ears if close enough, and even create a ringing noise. during this roar, it goes through a three-second animation depicting it's power and strength, as if it were a reflection of the pilot within. ____________________________________________ aside from the prima nagato, bass is an adept mechanic and pretty physically strong, despite what her build may say about her. she does not do well with independent strategy. strengths: |

urbem lateritiam invenit, marmoream reliquit
as metal clashed against stone furiously, a face behind a screen closed her eyes and started remembering her life and everything that she had been through that lead to this moment. she started with her first memory, one that was shrouded in darkness and mystery, yet defined her so well and so accurately.
a flash of sunlight was brief, then a darkness. darkness was her first vivid memory. no, not that of birth, nor that of nighttime. darkness in that her head was hit, and there was something running down her forehead as she struggled in some way, and lots and lots of noise. something about criminals, or her parents, or both, but it was all one big noise that she didn't like. but it was darkness. there was also water and blood, and a tunnel of steel that went on for hours. afterwards, she remembered hunger, and thirst, and dizziness.
but those memories lead to a sense of safety, and fullness. she remembered a little room that had been abandoned, with one bed, and books, and preserved food. nobody had been there for ages, so she lived there. she read the books and ate the food, and in those books came beauty, interest. something cool that she kept dreaming of doing one day.
she remembered that the food was almost running out, and that she wrapped the rest of it and the books in the blanket of the bed and went into the pipes again. She didn't starve or thirst that time, because she could eat things, and she didn't feel dizzy because she could sleep. the pipes were bigger, and they just went on and on and on. So she ate, and slept, and sometimes read, even though she had already read the books many times. walk, eat, sleep, read, walk, eat, sleep, read. it was boring, but it kept her alive. she didn't feel happy, but it was more of a strange contentment at the time. she learned a lot about things she never saw, never held. electricity. engineering. energy, physics, chemistry. one day she'd see those, when the pipes ended, maybe.
then she remembered getting worried, and that the food was becoming scarce. but she kept walking, and doing as she did, but she ate less. there was nobody to talk to but herself and the books, but she didn't need to talk. she talked before, with her parents before the darkness, but she couldn't talk anymore. maybe there was somebody invisible? ...no, there wasn't. there was just her, and pipes, and food, and books. sometimes she talked to people when she dreamed, but she didn't dream often. so it was silent. she lived in that silence. silence was good. it meant no trouble.
she came across a pipe. it wasn't a special pipe, it was just a pipe that she could walk through. she saw no problem in this pipe and ventured onwards, where there was a grate. she'd picked grates before, and this was no different. so she picked the grate off, and suddenly came into a huge pipe. no, it wasn't a pipe, it was a room, the biggest room that she had ever laid her eyes on. a huge, pipe-shaped room with rock walls and rock ceiling and metal floors. it had many floors, like layers, that connected with stairs. but the most discerning factor about that room was a thing in the middle that looked absolutely terrifying.
she remembered thinking that the thing in middle of the room was a monster that would eat her. it had huge teeth, and glowing red eyes, and giant pincers that could chop her up. she cowered under it's glare, sad that she never got to see the things she learned, until she realized that it did not eat her, or move at all. and then she looked at the thing. it was as tall as three of her, and as wide as five of her. she saw that it was made of the things that she learned of. that it's eyes were lightning, and it's heart was physics, and it's hands were engineering.
this monster was her dream, somehow. the pipes had ended in dust and metal. she remembered making sure to check all the layers of floors. there was one floor, with two beds with a skeleton in one, with walls upon walls of books. it also had a scarce amount of food, and water, and even clothing. her clothing was nothing but a rag, but there was clothing. there was clothes for a scientist, like she had read in her books, and there was clothes for a student girl. she remembered finding a little patch of dirt with a piece of metal that had 'sleep well, grandfather' on it.
on another floor were tools and items that she read about in her books. she figured them out, but sometimes she got hurt figuring them out. it was worth it, however. when she was able, she buried the skeleton next to the grandfather and carved into a piece of metal, 'good night, person' and put it on the burial place. then she looked upon the monster and vowed to complete her dream.
she remembered that building it and making it work took years, and she had grown older and taller as the years went by. she read all the books in the walls, and learned of philosophy, people, and even more sciences. the books became her friends, as did all the men in them. she remembered thinking of the dead people buried also as her friends, or even her ancestors. they probably weren't related, but she felt something like that. she remembered making up a name and giving it to herself from those books, because she couldn't remember what her parents named her. she sometimes shortened it, because it was a lot to say.
she also remembered returning to the pipes and scouring for food when she needed, as well as mapping out her directions. by the time she was done, her map was as tall as her and as wide as a wall. they detailed other, smaller rooms and pipes, where other people had ventured too far into the pipes and perished of sicknesses or otherwise. for a bit, she felt bad about taking their remaining food, but chose to ignore it after a while.
she remembered finding notes and papers which detailed the two people before her. one was a scientist, the other, his granddaughter he so adored. they were from the city of baum, in a nation called aquavia. sometimes, bass wondered if she was from there also. the two were driven to the pipes by madmen and criminals, and they resided and made room in the large pipe she was in right now. the scientist endeavored to create a machine that could break the mountainside and sneak out that way, as well as intimidate any opponents away. however, he perished while trying, and his granddaughter attempted and failed to continue his work. she then died of sickness.
somewhere, she remembered light. not the electric light that there was in the monster's room, but sunlight. she had seen sunlight, before she saw darkness, for a split second before the loud noise happened. she felt like she wanted to touch that light, at least once. that became her new dream, to touch sunlight. she read about sunlight, but she never touched it, unlike all the other things she read about. she touched all those things, and looked upon them, but she wanted more than a memory from sunlight.
somewhere, she also thought about why. why she was here, and why those people were buried. there were people who didn't like her parents, she remembered, who caused the loud noises. maybe those same people also didn't like the buried people, and drove them into this room as she was drove into the pipes. they didn't have sunlight, not anymore. those same people probably still had sunlight, by taking it away from others.
she remembered deciding to hate those people, to make them pay for taking away sunlight, and to help anybody who was getting hurt under those people. she read about men like that. and she reread about them, and decided that those books weren't her friends anymore. but she apologized but didn't read them, for she needed many friends as there were no people to be friends.
she remembered rejoicing as she was almost done, that all she needed to do was to turn it on, and that all that programming, engineering, electricity, chemistry, physics, knowledge, and friends would be safe. she remembered trying to take everything with her, but the storage wouldn't let that happen, so she took a wall of her favorite books and a bunch of food and water, put them neatly together into one pile, and tossed it into the storage, just barely fitting. she remembered saying a tearful goodbye to all the books she had to leave behind, and to the buried people, and saying that she hoped they would be proud of her for touching sunlight once more.
she remembered these things as the prima nagato, the monster she fixed, pointed it's two claw attachments at the stone wall. that wall had made a noise, like birds and air, and she remembered all her memories as it started drilling into the wall furiously, eager to get out. moments felt like an entire lifetime as she remembered these things, her ultimate masterpiece of all her knowledge at maximum energy, drilling as hard as it could, and even harder than that. as she remembered her last memory of 'goodbye', the stone finally broke, and fresh air and blue skies showed on the monitor. she got out of the cockpit and started crying, rolling into a heap on the floor as she wept her eyes out and held her hand forwards, her alabaster skin shining in the sun.
then bass stopped remembering, and started touching sunlight. nothing else mattered.

explaining bass's memory gaps, personality, and other possible anomalies:
alright, so bass came from two lower-class citizens who lived in an extremely bad part of the neighborhood. she learned to read, write, speak, interact, have basic emotions, etc., and kept those subconsciously. this is why she has a sense of empathy, and simplistic human understanding, without realizing it. one day, they had a bad run in with a gang, and the parents went to the escape plan of going into the pipes.
the gangs pursued bass's family and the parents sacrificed themselves to help bass escape, but bass received a pretty nasty head injury while escaping. that's why she doesn't consciously remember anything before that and why her memory is blank before the 'darkness', which would be her fading in and out of consciousness. the sunlight that she remembers would be the moment straight after her head got hit.
as for the reason there were a lot of people in the pipes, which is very strange for aquavia. the gang had been controlling the town for a good number of generations, and the pipes became a very popular area to escape, due to their strangely large size in that geographical area. this will explain any food, beds, books, and corpses in there. additionally, there's bound to be a few paranoid kooks down there for the apocalypse or what-have-you.
now, cut to when she drills herself out in broad daylight. i was originally planning for that part to be where her rp would start and where the first thread would happen, but given the possible problems in that, i'll just explain that she completely booked it out of there in the mecha after crying for a minute, not regarding anybody who was concerned. her empathy, though minimally solid, still has to develop. at that point, she'd run until she was roughly out of the aquavian border, which is where i plan to do things. additionally, i didn't want to insert this because i really liked my ending, but that's neither here nor there
