Mercer, Felix Mordred. Twenty-Nine Heterosexual Mordred Aquavia Mercenary IT BEGAN WITH A PEN IN MY HAND APPEARANCE "Oh, I'm flattered. Stare at me as much as you'd like~." Cheery and always full of life, Felix is a tall, athletic man who seems to be capable of taking the most toughest physical tasks that one could offer him. The natural frown on his face also makes him rather unapproachable at first - if not intimidating for most people, and the diagonal scar that runs down on the left side of his face doesn't help very much either. One could also tell that Felix doesn't care much about his personal appearance either - though he naturally can look sharp and professional if he tries to comb his unruly unkempt brown hair, but given his profession he 'doesn't have to care about his handsome face' very much in his own words.Despite his friendly demeanor, Felix is also a man who has seen a lot in his life time and one could easily tell that by just looking at his eyes. It's somewhat weary, but at the same time gives off an experienced and sharp gaze that carefully watch his surroundings. However, one of his eyes have been modified. Though one won't be able to tell from looking away from afar, his left eye his actually replaced with cybernetic eye that seem to almost mimic a real one. Felix's wardrobe varies highly depending on the situation and the job he goes out on, but for the most parts one could see him wearing a highly modified military-grade exoskeleton suit that seems to be very reminiscent of certain ancient warriors from the east. This suit is known to amplify his overall physical abilities by several times. To help cover it up and deter eyes away from in the public, the male wears a large great coat over it. On a more relaxed and social setting, however, Felix is known to wear his rather professional-looking suit. Complete with highly buffed pair of leather shoes and a black tie to go with his conservative outfit. STABBED IN THE CENTER OF CHAOS PERSONALITY "People say I'm a bad man.... Well, that's about half right - okay, maybe close enough." Not by long shot. Felix, while he is a mercenary and kills people for living, he is not a bad man by any means despite his profession as seemingly immoral killer. While he does care about his next paycheck and if he receive enough money to put food on his table, he still does have some standards not only as a human being, but as a warrior. While not many people are able to tell, but Felix tends to be very conservative as he was once one of the knights (or was about to be) in the Hryst society. As such, he would never harm anyone who comes to harm him or others, he never uses underhanded cheap tricks to deter his enemies and is always known to keep his word. That is just the tip of the iceberg. Many times, the mercenary has shown to be merciful to his enemies and even avoided combative situations whenever possible. While it's hypocritical, Felix does happen to have a heavy distaste for meaningless bloodshed while he does happen to enjoy fighting worthy opponents. However, in combat, Felix is serious and focused. He does not let anything else distract him other than him thinking that he has to defeat enemies in front of him. However, it is often covered up with his smart-mouthed, wisecracking and somewhat of a playful demeanor that he always puts up as a front. While it may seem like he doesn't seem to be taking anything seriously, the man is a highly analytical one on the battlefield. Always planning several steps and moves ahead in combat and carefully using his surroundings to his advantage, Felix is by no means a man to be taken lightly, but given the reputation the precedes him in the underground world, his opponents often have difficulties ignoring one of the greatest threats on the battlefield. One of the few things that Felix gets angry over is his enemies or allies' dishonorable conduct in combat. He knows that in battle many things could happen, but taking an innocent as a hostage is a no go for him and he often refuses to stoop down on the same level as they do. Due to his somewhat of a 'softer gentlemanly side' as he may call it, he puts the lives of others first before his and will do what he can to save this particular person even if it isn't part of the assignment that he was given. Even as a mercenary, if a person needs help, Felix simply does not ignore cries of those who are in dire need. While this often gets him into trouble with his clients, it goes to show that even a scum like him could have beliefs and standards rather than completely being immoral. One would think that behind his reasonings and reasonable approach to things that he would have some sort of a noble goal as to why he is in this particular business. Actually, there is none. Felix simply does it because he finds that it makes him feel useful and enjoys having to fight worthy opponents. While he certainly likes to win, but he doesn't mind losing either as long as the opponent is worthwhile to him even if it does risk his life. In short, he simply does it because he wants to fill a strange gap that he has in his heart that he craves to fill. There is little justice in what he does, Felix knows that what he does could be immoral and completely sadistic, but it's his job. Despite his playful, lax and friendly exterior, it's only a front to Felix, and to those that know him, it's a constant mask that he puts on just so that he has something to smile and laugh about every now and then to keep himself going. Ever since he had left Hryst, Felix had become somewhat of an empty shell, though he tends to hide it well, the man searches, kills and wonders around aimlessly in a quest to find a place where he would belong somewhere. For that reason, there is always a hint of frustration and loneliness in his eyes that he normally wouldn't express towards others in his manner of speech or behavior. This often leads him to questioning his beliefs - and often think maybe it's better not to believe in anything at all and simply go with the flow as a mercenary. However, the man is too strong to let himself go that easily, so he searches on for the reason of his existence. Endlessly. Abilities "Okay, let's paint a pretty picture.... With your blood!" Unlike Aquavians who might prefer long-ranged weapons and firearms, Felix has tendencies of 'taking care' of his opponents all up close and personal using a sword that he calls, 'Muramasa'. The sword is streamlined in design and made so that it resembles an ancient sword from the east when drawn out of the scabbard. However, at its dormant state, it doesn't seem to resemble such a thing. Instead, almost seems to resemble a very odd tank-hunting rifle without a barrel. The scabbard has a firing mechanism, a safety and other features that one would find on a rifle; however, this particular weapon features 'twin trigger system' which makes this rather unique in design compared to many close combat weapons out there. How does it work? The magazine fed into the scabbard is a power cell meant to power the entire weapon. Pulling on the primary trigger pulled by the middle finger once causes the magazine's power to be fed directly into the scabbard, Inside, there are two rails that line up with the weapon in a parallel form, and when the rails are charged with electromagnetic energy, the blade vibrates and shakes as it charges. Only thing the keeps the weapon from being fired is the secondary trigger pull for index finger and when Felix pulls on it, the blade literally 'flies' out from the scabbard at high speeds, allowing for its massive momentum to cut through through hard objects such as riot shields and medium-grade military body armor. The biggest object that Felix had cut through was an entire truck. In essence, this is a miniature railgun. However, it's not without its flaws. While it's a scaled-down version of a powerful weapon, it still needs time to charge to utilize its full strength [1 post] and the magazine's power cells only allows for four fully-charged attacks. Thankfully, Felix carries around more than one in his pouch and it's not uncommon to see him carry up to three power cells into battle. It is a difficult weapon to master and by no means easy to learn due to its highly unorthodox weapon system. Without sufficient training, experience, and equipment the weapon could literally shatter an entire arm from the sheer force and speed that the weapon generates. While this is in Felix's hands, however, he is capable of performing seemingly endless high-speed techniques that devastate even the most experienced combatants that face off against him. However, aside from his sword techniques, Felix also has a few things that help him - if not give him an edge against his opponent in combat. Muramasa Blade: A sword forged from a rare metal ore called the 'Red Sun' from Hryst utilizing a technique from the far east. The 'Red Sun' gets its name from a strange, but ominous red glow after it's heat-treated, giving it a look as if the weapon has never fully cooled off. While it looked more traditional during Felix's time in his home country, the weapon has been streamlined ever since Felix set his foot upon Aquavius and is paired up with heavily modified scabbard that he carries around. SOLID Eye: It's natural for a swordsman to be injured in a fight, and Felix is no different from anyone. In his line of work, he had lost one of his eyes and had it replaced with a cybernetic one. While it mimics, acts and looks like a real one, the eye gives him heads up displays of his current physical status, GPS, night / heat vision, and even allows for a limited zoom ins to help him see far off. He finds it a lot handier than his real one. XV-20 Arisawa Arms Combat Suit Type: RONIN: A battle suit that Felix wears into battle. Originally designed by the Arisawa Arms Industries at Aquavius, they are designed for special operatives that require to be behind enemy lines for extensive period of time. Complex in design and made to be very light weight, the suit features synthetic muscles that are completely comprised of fibers made from Adamantium and nanomachines that interfaces with the bodily movement of the user through electrical signals sent by the nerves. Essentially, it acts as second muscle that amplifies strength, agility and reaction time to the peak performance for its wearer. While it certainly isn't bullet-proof, it does provide some basic protection and apply various pressures on Felix's body, allowing maximization of performance and safeguard their functions. The suit also features several other systems, such as:
Implants: Without the necessary implants, it's impossible for anyone - let alone Felix to use the suit's capabilities to its fullest. There are two main implants that go into the user in order to use this suit. The first is the 'Kusanagi Hands', an implant on the back that directly links into his nerves and allows the brain to essentially calibrate and control the nanomachine within the suit. The second is the 'Kabuto Carapace', a strange black biomass that is grafted directly onto Felix's entire torso. This allows the nerves to interact with the suit, giving the user a wide free-range of movements. Without the armor, it looks as if he's wearing a black, skin-tight tank top. Railgun, the Three Talon Return: The ultimate counter attack that Felix has in his disposal. Taking a stance, he turns his body to the side with his hand resting on the blade and the other on the scabbard of the Muramasa. Then, as he pulls on the trigger, the sword 'launches' out of the scabbard, allowing for a massive momentum and speed for his first slash. Using the massive speed to his advantage, he creates seemingly simultaneous second and third crescent arc of deathly strokes, creating a prison of slashes that blocks off potential escape routes. He often uses it when his opponents are wide open, but because it requires him to stand still, Felix must fully commit to this attack as a killing blow. Railgun, Cyclone Talon: Even without his suit, Felix is capable of pushing his body far beyond the limits of a human being and considering that his suit amplifies his physical power, the potential that he has is almost unimaginable. Using this technique, Felix speeds past his opponent in almost at a blink of an eye so much so that he almost seems as if he's gliding across the ground to reach them as he tears apart the ground he stands on. Once within range, he pulls the trigger of his sword and performs series of highs peed slashes as he moves through his opponent, making it exceptionally deadly technique when the environment is tightly packed. Railgun, Thunderclap Talon Strike: Felix takes a battoujutsu stance and prepares himself for an attack. As one of the fastest attacks that he has available, he uses this particular technique to gain and initiative over his enemy or cut through their defenses. Once again, like all of his Railgun techniques, it requires him to pull the triggers on the scabbard and by using the massive momentum and speed generated from the weapon, Felix uses it to his devastating advantage. This technique also lets him follow up with several other strikes or techniques as well that are in his disposal. Strengths: + Quick Thinker / Learner + Master Swordsman + Enhanced Physiques + Weaknesses: - Has set of personal standards and rules - Long-ranged combat - Lightly armored - Merciful TO WRITE OUT THE LIGHT HISTORY "Oh no, a man does not give away his secrets so easily you know~. For you, I'll make an exception, this time~." Born and raised in a strict family of Knights in Hryst who lived by a set of spartan rules, As such, Felix always have lived a sheltered life to become the family's next head warrior to restore the family back to its former glory. While it was considered the honorable position that one could achieve in his life time, he didn't really see it that way, but without any other choice give to him what did he have other than to blindly follow orders? With his family, it always either a 'yes' or a 'no' - never treated as a son, but more as a piece of furniture. As a child, he was given series of teachers rather than be schooled. All day and night, he was trained to be a weapon not only physically, but mentally as well. To be quite honest, he never had any talent to be a warrior in the first place. He was weak, frail and so gentle that he refused to even hurt a single fly in his house. His father, seeing this disgraceful notion ordered Felix in one of their family meetings that if he failed him continuously, then he would be disowned as a son and would be stripped off of all that he is and make him live like a street rat. Fearing this, the boy tried harder to impress them and meet their expectations, but he was never granted the chance to prove himself. His father was an impatient man, he wanted results immediately to bring the family back to its former glory, so he adopted a son - one far superior to make their family well-known once more. With that, Felix was kicked out of the family only with pieces of clothing on his back. It snowed at that night. Given his weak condition and without any place to stay warm, Felix was on verge of hypothermia. His body was cold, numb. Unable to feel his fingers, the boy collapsed down on the ground - until by some defiance of fate a man saved him. When the boy looked him for the first time, he had such a happy smile. It came off strange to him, but nonetheless, he was nurtured back to health in his home. The man, like his father was a former knight who went by the name of 'Lugh'. His hair was pale white, skin fair but chiseled like a middle-aged man. His eyes showed experience like no other, he was weary and tired. Lifeless, at the same time full of life. Felix asked him why he was so happy, and the man replied: "Because first time in my life, I finally saved someone with my hands." The boy thought that was beautiful. To be able to feel happy - and never once in his life had he ever felt that way even if he grew up in such a privileged environment. So, as he grew up, the boy took after the man and urged him to help him become a knight so that he can also feel happy. Lugh, after much contemplation decided that he will make Felix into a knight and patiently trained him to be one. It took great effort on both their part to make Felix succeed and his weak condition didn't help very much either. It was only through great amounts of effort that Felix pulled through. Then, as Felix hit his early teens, the man said that he will send him to the academy of knights where he could be a fully-fledged one in the end in middle of a late night. At that point, Lugh could no longer train the boy. He was far too weak, too old even if he only looked so young. Realizing that his time on this world was finally coming to an end, he told a few last words to the boy as he drifted off to the sleep with him: "Be happy, Felix." Felix never did realize that Lugh left his side that night. He loved the man with all his heart and looked up to him, and as he left for the academy the next morning, he only saw a ragged cloak next to his bed. He would never see him ever again, not knowing that he had died. The boy believed that he had an urgent business to take care of, after all, Lugh was or rather - used to be a knight. With his skills and knowledge embedded into him, Felix easily made the cut, his physical conditions were at its peak and he was able to easily make it to the top of the class next to Story. The two became quick rivals and fought often, but when the two worked side by side there truly was no equal who could best them in combat. They became legends in that academy. Felix's lightning fast swordsmanship and Story's versatility in her techniques became well known to a point that even the dean of the school knew them. Even as rivals, the two were friends - though they butted each other's heads all too often. During that time, he became friends with Etro and acted as her older brother most of the time, always looking out for her and putting this girl's needs before him. Simply because in many ways, he was able to relate to her and felt compassion for the girl. There are numerous amount of cases when he went as far as sneaking into their house every now and then to meet her. However, as the day of graduation fast approached, Felix questioned if he truly belonged in the knights. Like his parents, his teachers saw him as a weapon, his classmates thought that he was an object to be admired, and his so-called 'friends' that he always cared and cherished was quick to be jealous. Without a place to belong to, Felix silently left the academy half-finished and decided to wonder around on his own as a self-proclaimed 'Ronin', a wayward warrior who served no master or purpose. Only person he let know about this was Etro, he knew that she'd probably be worried sick about him if he didn't say something. For many years, Felix wondered around the country. He wrote letters and sent postcards to Etro even if he didn't get any replies. That is until he entered Aquavia. There, they had work for him, daily, constantly. He finally felt like he belonged somewhere. His techniques and art became well-known of the underground world. Arisawa Arms industries eventually hired him and made him their personal assassin. He was treated with warmth in that community, but even then everything they believed didn't co-align with his. He knew that they would only use him and throw him away like a towel once he had served his purpose even if he and skills were well-received. And Felix? He saw them as dirty rats. Their concept and belief completely foreign to him. Their belief, orders, money dirtied his sword. In revenge, he butchered and burnt down the entire headquarter building of the Arisawa Arms industries in a single night. No one had survived to tell the tale of the brutal murders that Felix had caused - and for that he became a wanted fugitive, a lunatic killer with a sword on the loose. Felix couldn't care less about it. He continued his business, like always and as a wanted fugitive he wondered around, taking up odd jobs here and there to make a living as he struggle to find a place that he could call home. A place where he belonged. THAT LIVES WITHIN ME OOC |
