FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF CIVILIZATION
Geography and Climate:The land resides on a rather large set of islands - connected or separated by the waters from the North (Hryst's system). The surface of these isalnds are very tropical. The land mass that lies above is nearly at sea level with sandy shores and a series of mangrove trees that thrive on the water surround portions of the perimeter. Throughout, the country is rather flat and grassy with various trees and other tropical plants scattered about. However, the majority of the country lies below the surface of the sea, occupying nearly one third of the continent's waters. The underwater country is encased in domes made of strong and flexible glass material surrounded by the various fish and mammals of the ocean.
Aquavia's climate deals with a rather unchanged and specific type of weather the majority of the year: sunny. There are occasional showers and thunderstorms through a regular month, especially during the summer time, that come from the Northern plains. Both water and land are typically warmer most of the time, making the land humid as one would expect. There have been seldom cases of hurricanes and a record of a minor tsunami, but as the years have gone by, they have become very rare, though still possible. Inside the dome, it is kept at a satisfactory temperature, regardless of how the water is. Winters can get slightly cold against the breezes that come from the water's surface, but still well above any freezing or frigid temperatures.
Cities:
Above the water, the country houses its main ports and trading centres. The largest of these is a spread-out city known as Baem. Baem is a rather large and diverse place of both shopping and merching. People who inhabit the country as well as plenty of foreigners go about their main businesses here. The edge of the city rests along a beachside, a boardwalk extending from it that separates it from the sand and transport is provided to the lower regions of the nation. The city is decorated with impressive electrical lights, large and intimidating structures, and technical assets that show-off Aquavia's growth as a nation. Though there are still a few of these types of districts beneath the water, Baem is the most popular in the region. Most go about their transportation methods with bicycles or trucks used for cargo and inventory movement.
Under the blue, nearly a mile below, the heart of Aquavia lies with scattered cities that hold housing districts and other community necessities. The capital Shinsoo, however, is set up in a brawling metropolitan structure where almost all official business and laws are conducted. The city has the most advanced technology available across the continent - researching, producing, inventing, etc.. and relies on and stores massive amounts of renewable energy. Large towers with dozens of facilities that conduct research for the country are located at the four corners of the city. The largest and fifth tower lies in the center, projecting and holding the main source of energy for Shinsoo as well as supplying the structural strength needed to hold up the domes that keep the pressure of water safely from the air of the city.Society:
In the great nation of Aquavia, technology reigns supreme and the intelligent are the ones who survive the longest. In this land, there are educational institutions that bring up all the young citizens of the country to become contributors to the community. Here, it is the jock that secretly wish to be the nerds, and the nerds who end up with the best life partners. Those who are among the most elite are those who become scientists, doctors, and engineers. There is an assessment given throughout a 12 year span of schooling, and those who score the lowest on average or show little growth are given jobs to work in the port town of Baem, with a sustainable enough income.
In this society, intelligence is valued above all else and those who do in fact become exceptional in their fields are apart of the Shinsoo Honor Council, the government that decides the foreign and domestic policies of Aquavia. The head of the council is election remains in such position until they die, because they have been deemed the most intelligent and priveledged due to their connection with the gods. Council business is conducted in the main lab tower, though the council members themselves typically run the other towers in pairs.
Those who are more physically adept join the militia of Aquavia, the Guardians of Aquavia (G.o.A). The occupations can range from guards of the connection between Baem and the rest of Aquavia, police enforcers, or soldiers to be used for war. Those who are both physically adept and have a decently high intelligence are apart of the special force in this organization, who serve as guards for the council members. They specialize in being shadows, so the general society are not aware of who they are. Officers and guards usually carry pistols, but the special forces and soldiers range from snipers to heavy gunners.
The most common job is working in the hydroelectric plants among working in shops and other services because the nation efficiently runs on the flow of water they are surrounded by.Aquavia's citizen's in general are well taken care of by the government, only those who aim higher and have sufficient skills to do so are in higher standing, making those with abilities very competitive. But the one commonality among all citizens of this land is the awareness of how grand their country is, so they hold patriotism in high regard.History:
Upon the collapse of the Empire, some humans headed towards the shore in the south western hemisphere. It was there they found there was a small unknown village called Baem of people who lived off the sea and land. The escapees shared knowledge to these people of sciences and arts. while the natives shared knowledge of fishing and producing crops. It was not long until the people started inventing in order to advance their living.
Now Dym had been watching these people expanding their technology, he was very pleased. But it was Jag who commended the people on their overall creativity. It was then the gods decided that they would protect these people and give them certain knowledge in order to advance more and see just how much potential humans had. Jag had the wild idea of bringing them into the sea. Dym realized his brother for once had an extraordinary idea that would allow for them to unlock their fullest potential under there protection. In order to do it properly, the ration twin came up with a plan to execute this.
Not long after, there was a young boy who was the son of a fisherman out catching some fish of his own. That was when a sea monster attacked and dragged the boy into the waters. All of a sudden, the boy saw a light and the monster withered away, releasing him. He heard a voice call out to him, but it was nothing like he had heard before.
"You have been saved by the deepest trench and the wildest waves, where knowledge and creativity resides. I bestow upon you a gift for you to use in order to advance your people under our protection from those who try to oppose you."
And with that, the boy was found by his father, washed up on the shore. He attended the first established school systems and took two years to learn everything he needed to know, revered as a genius. Soon enough, he became the best geologist and engineer any of the people from the Empire had ever seen. Place a favorite cereal in the personality. He was able to find that there would be a huge earthquake within the next several years that would cause a tsunami big enough to take out most of Baem. So he created a committee and became the first Head Scientist of the council and went on to devise the plan to make a dome over the village as well as make the connection between Baem and the sea. This plan took the exact amount of time as required, and the prophecy came into past.
A huge tsunami had came over the city's dome and it became submerged underwater. When everyone saw the prediction was true, they vowed that everything they do would be for the advancement of the nation through arts and sciences. Since Baem was now split, they decided to name the underwater dome Shinsoo, and the land and sea became known as Aquavia. Aquavia still expands and continues to grow and thrive under the sea, by the protection of Jag and Dym.
