TAR MALE 31 HYRST THIEF HETEROSEXUAL | a p p e a r a n c e _______________________________ Taren's appearance is not quite as normal as it once was. His eyes and hair have become a brilliant shade of red, part of the price he paid for his powers. While he could probably get away with at least dying his hair to a more natural hue, he doesn't see the point, and has left it as is. He is of average height and weight, somewhere around 5'8" in height, 160 lbs. He has a lithe, muscular build, with wirey muscles and a lean figure. His hair, once short and brown, has now grown out to far past his shoulders in length, and tends to be a little wild. His eyes, the irises, cornea, and pupil, all of it, is just a solid red, giving him a forbidding and creepy appearance. His skin is pale and smooth for the most part, unblemished by disease nor injury. When he uses his powers, the skin around his hands and forearm turn pinkish in color, perhaps from blood rushing to his arms, or just simple magic as the cause. He is an unhappy man, and it shows in his range of expressions. He is not often seen smiling, and when he is it is more often than not cynical in nature. His posture is not the best, though neither is he in the habit of stooping. p e r s o n a l i t y _______________________________ Taren is a sour individual. Bitter and angry at the world, he has become a shell of the man he could have been. He has lost faith in much of humanity, and as such has a general dislike for the world's peoples. He is unsociable and grumpy, in short. He's not good at talking to people, nor does he enjoy doing so. He is the sort of man who speaks only when spoken to, and only says what needs to be said, and nothing more. He has no qualms over being rude, and has a distinct tendency to be abrasive and cynical in everything he does and says. He has a small bit of a depression issue, though it is clouded and hidden by anger most of the time. He is the sort of man who needs a support structure, needs friends, yet pushes people away with every gesture, and every word that comes from his mouth. Taren's sense of humor is dry at best, and usually takes advantage of those around him. If you're doing something stupid he is not afraid to point it out and make fun of you for it. For all that however, true smiles from him are rare, saved only for those he considers closest to him. For all his abrasiveness and grump, he does have a set of morals, shaky though they may be. He does not wish to harm anyone, but sometimes he believes it is necessary. He is single-minded in his goals, and if you get in his way he will cut you down and not look back, and blame what harm that comes from it on you, not himself. Sometimes He will help those who are clearly in trouble, but don't expect him to do it with a smile on his face, nor with any amount of gentility. The nature of his powers, and the consequences for earning them, make it hard for him to grow close to people. While he has always had an issue of trust, this has gotten worse since gaining his powers, and he makes obvious and common attempts to push those who wish to befriend him far away. LIKES:

a b i l i t i e s & s k i l l s _______________________________ Taren's powers were meant to be simple, when he thought them out. He asked for the power to teleport. And more specifically, he asked to be able to destroy a god. The power to destroy a god. What he got was not quite what he was expecting. No, to be more honest, it was nothing like he was expecting, but he wouldn't give them back even if he had the chance. Taren can teleport. It is almost effortless, though the farther he 'ports, the more energy it takes up. Short transport (anywhere from a few feet to a few blocks) is simple, something he can do over and over without too much stress. He will eventually get tired, but not without a lot of 'porting. Long distance teleporting is another matter. He can theoretically teleport anywhere in the world, but the farthest he's ever gone is from Aster to Blaikfurd. The journey made him exhausted, once he appeared within Domhan Tir. In any case, he can travel long distances, but has to space such teleportations out, to keep from exhausting himself. He usually rests a day or so before going back, if he has gone a particularly long distance, nervous that he could kill himself from overexhaustion, otherwise. required: 2 strengths and 2 weaknesses. strengths:

Taren Rowe was born in a small town in Lower Aster, Hyrst, to Miya and Palvon Rowe. He was the youngest of seven children, and the only son out of the lot of them. They grew up not quite in poverty, Hyrst being the socialist nation it was, but never quite having enough. His father was a drunk, and his mother worked hard rearing the kids. His father had a low-ranking position in government at some point, but lost it due to his inebriation, and had trouble finding employment afterward.
taren grew up constantly hearing about how the government had "cheated" them, that society didn't care about the rowe family, and that they were doomed to remain less than equal to others for all eternity, regardless of the truth of the statements..
His older sisters took up jobs as maids or other low-paying positions to keep up rent. Taren was too young to find employment legally, but an offer from a friend of a friend got him mixed up in one of the street gangs around. While he never killed anyone, he did a lot of thieving, and got pretty good at it. Nearly got his own ass beat, too, more than once.
His sisters were constantly telling him he should join up as a guard, branch away from the street gang, but the truth was that he'd found a lovely little lady who was a part of it, and he may have been trying to impress her, even at his young age of seventeen.
While working for and with the gang, he picked up some basic skills in self-defense, and a limited amount of stealth. He never got very good at the latter, other than just the basics of keeping to shadows and the like, but he enjoyed fighting, and got into a number of brawls, as a teen.
He and his lovely lady, whose name turned out to be Karanine, broke off from the gang when he was nineteen. Taren and kara left the city to distance themselves from the gang, and started a new life in a smaller town. He joined the town's militia, and made an earnest little living wage, and kara worked on a neighbor's farm, until she learned enough to start her own garden, and left that employment.
Things were starting to look up; however, leaving a gang was hardly ever as easy as they had assumed it to be. He got word months later that his father had been killed as recompense. He left Kara behind to tend to his grieving mother, and ultimately ended up bringing his mother and his two sisters up north to live with him and his soon-to-be-wife.
