sweetheart. K-Z has a different name now, and it makes her smile. She's no longer K-Z, but Katharine, and she really should be back in Domhan Tir, but she's remembered the beauty of Hryst; her eyes gaze wide and happy upon the sunshine, her smile that of a pleased child as the light catches and gleams off the waves. Out here she is free, which is far from what she used to be; her hands clap in delight and Katharine can't contain herself; her head tilts back and she screams in delight, hands splaying wide. Her fists thrust into the air and Katharine bellows her triumph, and she can feel the tears welling below her eyes; tears for Jane, who died horribly, tears for freedom.
But here she is, standing on the ship, her hands upstretched, embracing the light for all it's worth, her head tilted back. Katharine feels the shiver in her legs, feels the lance down her spine.
Even now, as she pauses, Katharine can hear the voice of the Teacher of the Tube, the melodic woman's voice that was her sole companion when she was floating in a tube. Hrystian seas are dangerous, because of the presence of Hydras. Many types of Hydra lived, once, but now only one remains; Hrystians hunted the rest to extinction. A Hydra is large enough to swallow a boat whole. But the ones that were shown as being that big were gold! Gold! Gold like the sunset!
It's so beautiful.
Katharine gasps softly and stares up at the setting sun, and in the moment, she's certain she will never be used to the sight of a setting sun. She turns and grabs the arm of the person next to her: "Look! Look! The sun! It's so pretty when it's like this~!" |

Cast. Reel. Net. Cast again. Not really something fun necessarily but there wasn’t much else to do on this ship. Charlie held the rod in his hands staring out at the water. He’d been doing a lot of thinking since Captain Luminus talked to him. Being a thief was all he really knew. But it wasn’t about to land him anywhere good in his life. He remembered Laina, always running. Never really able to stay in one place. That was, until Charlotte was born. Maybe she just hadn’t wanted to stop? He wasn’t sure if he wanted to stop either. He did like thieving. And now he was a part of the gang. He couldn’t really stop. But he had taken the job on this ship. A deckhand for a fishing vessel. It was money, just a more legal way of getting it than he was used to.He was so wrapped up in his thoughts he hadn’t even noticed the girl who had stowed away on the ship. He jumped and nearly dropped his rod when she screamed. He stopped and stared at her when his eyes finally landed on her. She was… Charlie couldn’t really give it a word. She was lovely, beautiful… perfect. That was probably the best word. Perfect. Her hair blew around her in the wind. Her eyes literally dancing with sparks as she stared out at the sunset. Charlie just stared at her for a moment before he went to say something. She grabbed his arm still staring out at the sun. “Look! Look! The sun! It’s so pretty when it’s like this~!” He stared down at her clutching his arm to her side. “Yeah it is.” His attention was nowhere near what hers was.WORDS 291 TAGS @donor NOTES hehe stare at the pretty girl LAIKA OF GS!

sweetheart. Alright, maybe Katharine shouldn't be this excited about the mere act of being on a ship, but, she is; the redhead grins wide, light catching off her hair. She turns her head to the fellow beside her, her nose wrinkles, and she sweeps that free hand wide, before pulling his arm up into the air; her hand knits into a triumphant fist and she stares at the horizon. "I mean, wow! I've seen them from the--mainland? Mainland. Before, but they haven't been like this. It's catching the waves and everything..." This is freedom, Katharine knows, and she'll never give it up, will never go back to where she came from; breath rushes into her lungs as she takes in a deep breath, lets his arm go. She can't communicate the beauty of it well enough, and she knows it--she pauses, for a moment, and then Katharine whirls on him, her eyes flashing wide: fire in her eyes as her perfect teeth flash.
"I--don't tell, but I snuck on this ship, okay? I just wanted to see what it looked like. Last time I was on a boat, I was tucked under...the bow, I think? With the cargo." She had also been stowing away there and then but that'd been a different stowing-away, a rather desperate sort; here Katharine is not being hunted; at least, overtly. Her shoulder bumps the man playfully. "So, it's a fishing boat? I--I think, right? So, I mean, I'm not the best fisher, I've never done it before, but that's fine, I think, that's not what I'm here to do." She never really had a filter; where would she have gotten it from? There was no need for a filter before.
So, Kat sucks in a breath, and stares down into the sea, lets it rush out of her lungs, her lungs. "What's your name, Fisher-Man?" |

Charlie listened to the girl talk. He was only partly paying attention as his focus was on her features. It wasn’t easy to concentrate until she looked right at him and told him she’d stowed away. His face went from fascination to a smirk. “Well, seems like you’re rather resourceful then. We didn't bring a whole lot with us for you to hide with. A little word of advice though coming from an expert, if you stow away on a ship, you should try to stay hidden and never, ever tell anyone you snuck on. Some ship captains aren’t so nice and will lock you up or throw you overboard. You’re lucky today. Stick with me and I’ll make sure you’re safe.”Great, I wanted to go on this trip for some easy money and here I am talking to a girl more beautiful than a goddess. He smirked again as he watched her. She didn’t seem too well connected with the world which Charlie took as a bit odd but he just shrugged that off. “Yeah, this is a fishing boat. I’m not really very good at it either. I’m just here for some easy money. Truth be told, I’m not really a fisherman. My profession is much less… legitimate. But it’s a lot more fun.” He found himself bragging which wasn’t so much like him. But then again, here was a girl he’d never seen the likes of before. Who’s to say he was thinking straight anyway?“My name? I’m Charlie. Nice to meet you pretty girl whose name I don’t know.”WORDS 264 TAGS @donor NOTES attempted charm attack xD LAIKA OF GS!

YOU CALLED FOR A HYDRA?! The high seas! God, it was good to be back on the water. Especially after that literally godforsaken tournament, the hectic thing causing a retreat and civilian protection. Shinonome gave a great hearty laugh when she was sent on patrol, something she normally wouldn't have done. After weeks of landlubbering, she'd finally been able to set sail once more, and thank Brynne for that! The crew decided to celebrate by drinking their hearts out, which the captain shortly followed. So here she was, singing sailor shanties at the sunset, her sobriety long gone since a few hours ago. It was a happy picture, that much was certain. Very much contrasted the weird shit back at Domhan Tir.
"Yo, ho, yo, ho!~" Nome sung along with the rest of her burly gang. Honestly, they looked more like pirates in uniform than trained seahands of the army at the moment. Her hair swayed back and forth as she swayed back and forth, face red with alcohol. Needless to say, the blonde was completely plastered at this point. "High over the seven seas!~ The crew needs more drinks now, please!~ We're rocking and ROLLING and flocking and BOATING, so PLEASE give us DRINKS now, PLEASE!~" The entire ship seemed to roar in laughter, and could be heard like a party in the distance. Indeed, it was a night to remember.
They were passing by Charlie's fishing boat, but nobody really noticed. Sitting on the rails of her ship, Shinonome meanwhile indulged herself in the simple drinking challenge of chugging, her crew circling around her. As she gulped down an entire bottle of gin, the entire Ophelia seemed to chant fervently and loudly, "CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG!" She finished the bottle in about ten seconds, and raised her glass to show, a shining grin on her face. They whooped in delight. "To the Hydra of Hyrst and all her bloody workmen!" She said. They replied back, "TO THE GOOD HYDRA'S CREW AND THEIR BLOODY STINKIN' CAP'N!" Another round of laughter.
The ship seemed to stop as the captain turned around, leaning over the railing to get a good look at the fishing boat. Her vision stopped bluring for a second as Captain Morgan tried to focus on it. "Hey, ain't that the bloke Charlie from when some assholes tried kidnapping me? HEY CHARLIE!" Thte eyed the girl with him. To far away to see the fine details, but enough to see she was damn pretty." WHO'S THE BABE WITH YOU CHARLIE?!" She yelled, her drunken clique following with their own "Charlie"s and even a few loud "MAKE A MOVE"s.
Indeed, it was a good day to be Shinonome Morgan. |
