you know what else is great? me.
It had been quite a journey from his home, but Miles had finally made it to the Rose, the site of the Solstice Tournament. He’d been travelling for days, getting lost several times along the way. But here he was, finally, just before the sun went down. He knew the signups for the day were already over and that the next day signups would only last for a few hours before the final lineup was decided. He needed to be able to get up early enough to be on that lineup. But first, he was exhausted. He had been walking for nearly fourteen hours by now just to be able to make it here before nightfall. His diligence had at least paid off for that. He walked forward into the large, ornate buildings looking around at all of the carvings and the beauty the whole area was encased in. He ran his hand along one large pillar feeling the smooth stone with the etchings carved in. It all felt surreal almost, as if Orik himself was walking with him. The whole area permeated with his presence. Miles smiled to himself feeling even closer with his god. He looked up at the sky, full of bright pinks and oranges now. “I will make you proud Orik.” He continued walking forward toward the inns that had sprung up for the tournament. As he entered them, each seemed to have absolutely no rooms for him. He didn’t give up and kept searching though his tired body protested every step of the way. He’d already gone through six inns but there were still quite a few available. He just hoped one would have a room open for him to use. He’d rather not have to sleep out in the wilderness for yet another night. | TAGGED: @elliot NOTES: yay finally got this written, i hope it's good |
