"Do it for the Bine!"
A group of teenagers stood one of the taller buildings in Shinshoo, overlooking the sprawling metropolis. The sun was high in the sky, odd for a winter day, yes but it wasn't too cold either. It was warm enough for the teenagers to keep warm by hoodies and long jeans. The ocean surrounding them was quiet, the waves moving gently as they would. From their vantage point, cars looked like ants and people seemed smaller. The sounds of city couldn't go unnoticed, whether it be the electric and gas engines powering vehicles and carrying them to their destination or the hydroelectric plants at work. The building the group found themselves on was a casual business office.
There was about four teenagers -- three of them in a group, huddled in the center of the area while a dark skin male was by the edge. The boy by the edge was none other than Aquavia's local rebel, Caelum. He wore a light red hoodie, black pants and boots. His red hoverboard was propped up under his foot and he wore a pensive expression on his face as a hand combed through his black hair. His breath escaped his lips in short gasps, forming small wisps of winter air. He would occasionally lean forward, looking over the edge at the streets below. It was a straight plummet down. His eyes moved slowly, focusing on the building adjacent to them. There had to be at least forty feet between the two structures. Nervously, Caelum turned to the group.
This seem to excite them, as they began to screaming, egging the lone teenager to jump off the edge. There was one teenager with long blond hair and a skull cap. He held his phone in front him, a red light shining just above the camera lens. "Bruh, do it for the Bine!" The kid, Emmanuel, shouted, clearly elated.
"He ain't gon' do it!" One girl, Sarah, teased. She was shorter with brown curly hair and a petite, full figure. She wore a light winter jacket and leggings. She smiled at Caelum.
"DO IT FOR THE BINE!" Emmanuel shouted again, jumping up and down in excitement.
A smaller boy, Rico stepped forward and although he was small in stature, he was clearly their age. He pumped his fists angrily. "HE AIN'T GON DO IT!"
"FUCK THAT!" Caelum shouted suddenly, kicking his hoverboard up and grabbing it. His hand moved across the side of it, hitting a switch to power it on. The small electrical engine hummed to life as the young man began to backpedal, moving toward the group. "Watch me. Make sure the camera's rolling, Emmanuel." The dark skinned boy commanded and Emmanuel only held his phone with a tighter grip. The huddle parted in the middle. allowing the rebel to enough room.
Caelum took a deep breath.
He looked left. Sarah made eye contact with him before blushing and smiling.
His head craned to the right. Emmanuel and Rico stood there, patiently waiting.
Caelum exhaled sharply before breaking into a powerful sprint, his hoverboard gripped tightly in between his hands. The edge got closer and closer and the boy leaped as high as he could. His friends followed behind him, only stopping at the edge to see the next events unfold. Emmanuel could only hold his phone up as his jaw dropped in disbelief. "Yoo...."
He was airborne for what felt like eternity. His hands fumbled all over his board, maneuvering to slip it under him and managed to do so successfully. Combat boots came down hard on the crimson colored metal as he rapidly approached the second building. The electrical motor began to screech loudly, the hoverboard having never been exposed to such a high altitude, which was coupled with the fact that it was meant to go more than a foot over any surface. Caelum was nervous: would he stick this landing? The board wobbled and shook as he rapidly descended, the blacktop of the second building scrapping against the bottom of the board before the engines pulled it back up. The young man's body jumped uncomfortably, his knees nearly buckling from the sudden movement. A smile stretched across his face as he moved across the second building rapidly. The landing was a success, his friends' exciting shouts only accenting that fact. Something was wrong though...why were their shouts turning into terrified screams? Did Sarah say stop? Why did he need to stop?
That's when he realized. He had covered the entire building and instead of stopping the second he landed, as intended, he kept going. Caelum's eyes widened in fear and instinctively, one foot left the top of the board and kicked at the side switch, shutting the board off immediately. The hoverboard crashed down onto the black top of the building, sending its flyer careening forward...
And off the edge.
Sarah ran forward, his eyes reddening instantly as tears formed. "OH MY GOD!"
Caelum entered a vicious freefall into an alleyway, tumbling downward into what could possibly be his doom. He struggled to right himself while at the same time, pulling at some sort of energy within him. The only way he could survive this fall would be his gift. The only problem was getting it to work before he began a permanent part of the ground. The boy managed to get into a pencil dive-esque position, his hands and feet tightly together.
Come on...

Nessa had been in Aquavia for a little over three months, spending that time readjusting to the distinct culture and superior technologies that were prevalent throughout the nation. In that time, however, she’d managed to rapidly burn through any form of liquefiable assets she had, forcing her to find a source of income. While she did attempt a brief foray into the tech industry, Nessa settled into the rather mundane job of a cashier at a local dingy pawn shop. The pay wasn’t particularly great, but it was sufficient, and working in customer service suited her more than fiddling around with circuitry and technology. The shop in which she worked was a rather far from the motel where she’d taken up temporary residence, a distance which she happily walked through different routes every day. Today, however, was slightly different; she was late. Nessa trotted briskly beside the bustling street as she hurried along the most direct route. She hadn’t been on the road for a while and her time spent in civilization caused her to abandon her travelling garb for more casual clothing; a brown cardigan over a white button down and jeans. Her job, as lame as it was, still had certain dress standards. She still wore her beaten, worn jacket over the ensemble to better protect herself from the elements. Being late wasn’t something that occurred very often and there wasn’t even an excuse that she could come up with. Fortunately, something was about to give her a real, though probably unbelievable, reason. Far above her, a group of rambunctious teenagers were attempting a rather absurd stunt. Nessa didn’t really have much of a reason to be looking up, but she couldn’t help but marvel at the massive buildings that lined the streets. Simply the fact that they existed was rather fascinating. She shaded her eyes as she stared up towards the sky, squinting at a shadowy object that was haloed by the blazing sun. It took her a second to figure out what the object even was, though it was eventually given away though the flailing limbs. She’d been in plenty of adverse weather from rain, sleet, snow, and the occasional monsoon, but she’d never seen it rain people. She didn’t think about it for longer than a second; there really wasn’t time to consider her actions as she dashed into the closest alleyway and she attempted to estimate the possible point of impact. She was already late anyway. The narrow alley funneled out into a slightly larger rectangular courtyard, the walls lined with backdoors, barred windows, and towering dumpsters. The smooth concrete floor had been recently paved, unblemished aside from a single manhole that sat dead center in the open area. Nessa skidded to a halt, her eyes still glued to the sky, tracking the thin shadow was it rapidly approached. It occurred to her that where wasn’t really a whole lot she could do. There wasn’t a chance in hell she’d be able to slow the falling person’s decent enough to prevent his or her brains from splattering all over the surprisingly pristine walls and floor. Landing in trash dumpster was something that really only worked in cartoon, right? In reality, she’d likely just be the final person to witness the stranger’s final moment. NOTES: AHAHAHAHA

He was moving so fast, it was uncomfortable. The ground was approaching and everything was coming into the view. Dumpsters lined the side of the alleyway, sign of the nearby shops and complexes just around the corner. He was running out of time and it just wasn't working! His fists clenched even tighter, his knuckles turning a vicious of white. His heart was threatening to tear itself from Caelum's chest, just to avoid the gruesome fate that would befall them. Please, come on..., Caelum pulled at whatever it was inside him, harder and harder as he plummeted past every story. And finally, whatever power he was trying to call upon, finally came to be.
Typically, it came out uncontrollably. Raging blue fires came into existence, expelled from his limbs. Jets of flames flew from his knuckles and soles of his feet, with such force that he completely halted his momentum. Caelum became airborne the exact same moment he noticed the person entering the alley. his eyes widening in response to the stranger. He didn't even think of other people seeing him using his gift like this, which was understandable. He was more focused on, you know, staying alive. The flames bounced harmlessly off of the metal buildings and ground alike as Caelum stayed afloat, looking down upon the woman now standing in the alleyway.
He could've looked like a god right now. His body illuminated by the afternoon sun, jets of blue flames whipping from his limbs as he stayed suspended in the sky. It gave him an otherworldly feel just think of how he appeared to the woman. But the last thing he wanted was to scare her off.
With much concentration, Caelum slowed the output of his flames, allowing gravity to slowly push him back to the earth below. In a few moments, the young man found himself a couple feet away from the woman, the flames disappearing and leaving only his knuckles smoking. His golden orbs fell onto the brown haired woman, fully taking in her features. She was tall, near his height but still just a bit shorter than him, but still very womanly. A shade of crimson overtook his face, either from embarrassment that she saw his gift firsthand or the fact she was pretty good-looking and both his arms came up, to clearly show that he meant no harm. His eyes narrowed, scanning the woman and completely absorbing her features before falling tot he ground.
"I..." He began but quickly stopped.
How would she react to seeing his abilities? Would she be marveled or frightened? Caelum looked back at her, eyebrows arched, awaiting her response.

The falling body’s details were barely perceptible due to its speed and, even as it rapidly approached, Nessa couldn’t make out anything about the person. She couldn’t help but cringe as the body rapidly approached, expecting the worst. After all, there wasn’t that much room left for something strange to happen. And then something strange happened. Jets of azure fire exploded from the stranger’s body, the force completely negating the previously fatal velocity. Nessa watched with newly piqued interest as the danger of the individual splattering his or her brains about the concrete disappeared. She finally got a view of the stranger although his form was haloed in by the flare of the sun and the flames that emitted from his body, shadowing the majority of his features. He looked slightly younger than her, perhaps late teens, and his mess of black hair and casual clothing made him look rather street savy. The more important thing, however, was the flames that slowly flickered down to nothingness as the man sank downward. Nessa had seen supernatural abilities during her travels: a diviner who lived deep within the forests of Domhan Tir, a street urchin from Hryst who seemed to disappear into shadows, and now a rather rebellious looking teen who seemed to be shooting licks of blue flame from his limbs. There was never a clear explanation for their powers, or rather one good enough to satisfy Nessa’s curiosity, despite her prodding attempts. Still, she was in Aquavia, land of the most advanced technology one could imagine. The existence of an experimental jetpack wasn’t completely out of the question in this scenario. This possibility, and simply the mystery surrounding the whole situation, kept Nessa glued to where she soon, watching the man’s slow descent. “That was pretty awesome!” Nessa trotted towards the stranger, her body tense despite her casual approach and demeanor. It was just to be safe; there wasn’t really a reason to not be careful around someone who could, apparently, shoot flames from his hands. Still, his facial reactions and dispersal of his flames her solidified her nonaggressive assumptions. There were about a million questions bouncing through her mind, but Nessa decided to start with an introduction and the single most important question. “I’m Nessa. I’d shake your hand, but,” she eyed the man’s smoking knuckles, “I’m not a fan of getting burned. But! More importantly, how did you do that?” NOTES: PEW PEW FIRE
